Flood is staying.

Hopefully, Flood rids himself of his DC and his DB Coach Wilson.

As I posted on Premium, don't think Flood has the balls to bring back former DB Coach Chris
Demarest who is a superior recruiter and could once again "mine" South Florida for RU.

ONE MORE YEAR!

Rossi was a good coach that was overpromoted to his role that he's currently in. He throws another coach under the bus to save his ass, and won't find an upgrade over him, because he's failed to so twice already.

As always, If you throw enough shit against the wall some is bound to stick TV

If Flood stays it will be proof that the RU admin values saving money, which isn't true btw, over academic integrity.
Totally idiotic.

Read throught the threads.

MANY posters said he was gone from "sources"(Not going to say who).

Will be interesting to see if Flood stays how they explain away thier false proclimations and try to save face.

I'm not disagreeing just making a point that MANY are the same posters.

The look at me posts are mildly annoying but do they really matter? Relax, have a beer, root for a win against Maryland, and then wait and see (or hope he gets fired). We'll get the answer soon enough.

If by academic integrity you mean firing for cause over email-gate, that ship sailed long ago. Barchi has gone on record that they considered dismissing Flood for that incident, and decided not to. If he were to try to do so now, it would never stand up in court.

if flood stays my son and I are done as a fans, we are gone. if there is no commitment to football from the university then I will not commit my time or money and go to games. what a ****ing joke this university is if the keep this clown.

I'll start. RU is dysfunctional and things have and continue to change hour to hour. People have been pushing their own agendas and trying to raise funds and use influence. It's complicated when RU commissions an investigation and the results don't play out the way they hoped. How do you fire a coach and not the person who is supposed to be overseeing him? What happens when the report proves the AD is more at fault than the coach? Does Barchi really want to hire an AD and a coach? I have some pretty good sources and the one thing I can guarantee is only Barchi knows how this plays out.

Flood should be fired for his performance on the field....commissioning a report to do it was stupid. Just fire him and pay him. I don't see the issue.

By the way I heard from some guy in the gym who talked to a pretty good donor a few weeks ago and said that Tressel had been contacted

Sounds like we need a clean sweep of the AD, really reflects poorly on Barchi as Hermann was his hire.

You don't know why he wouldn't be fired? How many lawns you gotta cut to raise 4 million bucks? RU is cheap, donors are worse but there is still hope.

Is it going to be any cheaper next year? He'll still be owed 1.4M and the staff will still be owed money too whether it's new staff or old staff. Besides the 4M+ doesn't have to be paid in a lump sum just over time and to me quite a bit of liability coming from the assistants will be removed as they obtain new jobs.

make Towers pay it or tell him take a hike right now
Make towers pay to fire his buddy? He's on the hook for 700k. Don't forget the caveat of his potential 10 figure pledge to basketball. Again, I don't approve I'm just giving you reasons why they'd keep him.

No not cheaper but wouldn't a new AD want to hire his own guy in a year?

If they fired her without firing him that would be just beyond stupid. I can see letting them both go but not her without him.

Frankly, nothing would change IMO. I would like to see a real clean sweep of the administration of the athletic department specifically people who were here during all our pathetic history. They're all just backstabbers trying to protect their own fiefdoms and have been associated with a miserably performing department. They'd try to take down any new person trying to affect change as well. Does that go away just because JH is gone? I don't think so the same problem would continue to exist.

don't agree with your assumption. this is from his contract

"Failure to impose disciplinary or other corrective actions in any particular instance of violation of any rule, regulation or principle of conduct, or with respect to any particular conduct or incident, shall not act as a waiver by the Director to later discipline or correct Mr. Flood for any violation, whether the same or different in degree or type"

the language leaves a lot of room for interpretation especially if he was found for more than one violation.

also, regarding his position about the drug policy and how he was never informed. his argument will not stick because his contract states that

"Mr. Flood shall know and comply with all applicable rules, regulations and requirements of the NCAA, the Big East Conference, or other conference/organization of which Rutgers is a member, and Rutgers Athletics. This includes without limitation all reporting and disclosure requirements, including NCAA Bylaw 11.2.2...."

Hermann was the state of this country's PC hire. Now, I liked the hire but let's not make believe her being a women and a lesbian wasn't exactly what the Rice fiasco called for.

Get it all over at once then and start afresh. It may be uncomfortable to have to do both at the same time but rip off the bandage get it over with. You're not saving any money so get it over with all in one go. If anything you're wasting money by keeping someone in place you're going to get rid of anyway.

There's no way she should go without him. It's just stupid. Frankly, I don't think a new AD will be much better until all the old guard in the administration is removed. Anyone trying to affect change is going to be backstabbed by these people trying to protect their fiefdoms. If you want to do a clean sweep do a real one, not just one for show.

oh and they will have to pay out Julie too and then hire a new guy at a higher price. So more money not to mention money lost by revenue and donations next season....good luck, I will be laughing at RU because they deserve what they get

I'd want to see that money. I'd actually tolerate it for a year if it's real and not just a carrot hanging in front of the donkey. I'd want the money up front, what's the point of keeping Flood and then having Towers renege.

Besides who the heck was the one who brought Towers in? Certainly not Flood, it would have to be JH or SB or both. I would expect him to have good relations with them as well.

Not just Julie, it really does seem like the whole AD needs a detox.

What if the report allows them to fire her with cause?

Not sure but I believe the money has been guaranteed and new DC as well. Again, this could all be bad info......
