This is something no one has mentioned in awhile, and that's the full investigation into the program. Wouldn't be surprised at all if this is what is used the get Flood to "step down" with probable cause. Thoughts anyone

Any damaging evidence will force a settlement where as KF resigns with some money. KF is damaged goods right now, but if the report comes back clean and they win out he can save his job.

Unless there is suddenly a major major steaming stinking revelation that spills out, probably the most that will come out of the investigation might be a small bit of leverage to nudge Flood into a more favorably negotiated separation settlement.
If there was an effort to knit together some sort of "for cause" line of reasoning - an effort that looked & smelled contrived, it would be a far more destructive mess than simply 'parting ways & paying what would be owed" - if it was a weak argument then Flood would sue & likely win - - and Rutgers would look like the kind of organization that, instead of honoring agreements, goes on scavenger hunts to dig up information & technicalities to try to justify breaking a deal - nobody want to go and work in a place that does that sort of thing.
It would be tough enough to get a respectable coach to be willing to tie their name to this program - and it would be infinitely tougher if they felt that if things were not moving along, they would have to worry about a investigative team digging through everything to try to find a way to break the contract

When has an investigation in any field ever come back clean? The RU report alone disclosed infractions. Do you honestly think investigators are going to put all that work into saying "yup, that's pretty much the extant of it"?

If he is found to have ignored drug tests than he should be fired. No reason to discuss a settlement. He could sue but that would make some of the non published stuff public. If he wants to coach anywhere after Rutgers that wouldn't be a good idea

At this point, I doubt we would try to remove him with cause. It would likely be a negotiation, where he agrees to step down and all sides sign a non-disclosure agreement. The good news is that next year is the last year of his contract. By big 10 standards, buying him out for 1.25 million is not much (compared to other big 10 coaching contracts).

By most accounts, the AD would have to fundraise to cover the buyout, as well as the difference between Flood's salary and a new coach's contract. In a thread yesterday, I tried to get a sense of what it would cost, but it devolved quickly. Basically, I estimated 8-10 million over the next 6 years (until we get a full share). I have no idea if the estimate is close, but this seems like a reasonable number for an AD to raise in private funds.

My understanding is that private donors and/or Towers covers the cost of the buyout based on the details that were worked out in Flood's extension last year. I would assume that the cost of the buyout is covered based on those previous agreements

Is that true, or still true?

Failed drug tests & secondary violations?! LMAO. Welcome to college football. We had them under Schiano & every coach before him as has every other coach in college sports. This report will do more harm than good & will further limit the pool of coaches we have a shot with.

As Col. Jessup said: "You ****ing people, you have no idea how to defend Rutgers. You just weakened Rutgers today, that’s all you did. ... Sweet dreams son."

Umm. Rutgers had failed drug tests that were coveted up by Schiano?? Total BS. You do realize that Schiano set up the drug testing program that it is alleged that Flood ignored....right??? You do realize Schiano set up the program of academic advisors that Flood skirted and got suspended for???
You Schiano haters love to make up lies to protect a complete idiot like Flood. Clueless. Completely clueless

"Failed drug tests" are nothing whatsoever. Here is where you CAN have problems:

- you don't report them properly AND/OR

- you don't dole out punishments, to ALL members of your program, as prescribed and equally

Didn't Flood also negate GS' rule of sitting in the front of the classroom-and other locker room changes?

Worked great with Beauhrnis Greene et al who were dyed in the wool in GS regime and could police themselves. Since that year, it's slowly coming undone.

I'm no Schiano hater so nice try. Get a clue & learn the facts. Schiano had multiple players fail drug tests & they played until they failed what the 4th time? Hence why a certain star OL & WR had to sit vs a meaningless 1AA. It'd be nice if a certain academic advisor (& probably you too) weren't so interested in destroying the FB program & school in an attempt to bring back Schiano. If you guys want him then go about it the right way without bringing down the school & program.

People are trying to destroy the football program and the school because they want to bring Schiano back? Maybe someone needs to check your drug test results, lol.

Maybe you should read up on the policy before you comment on it and show how stupid you are. The policy does not call for a suspension until the 4th fail. There are steps taken for each failed tests. Flood is the one that isn't following any of the rules.
Not a Schiano hater??? Yeah right. You just accused him cheating to protect the virtue of your sacred Kyle Flood. If you don't hate Schiano why are you making up lies?

You need to brush up on your reading comprehension & actually get some facts. And yes there's an academic advisor grinding his ax & leaking info like a sieve.

Nice try asshole. This board was much ether without you. We can only hope you're banned again soon. You too need to freshen up your reading comprehension skills. I never said Schiano cheated. I said he had players fail drug tests & had secondare violations. Put down the beer ya drunk.

Go down in your mom's basement and play with your mini helmet collection. You've displayed too much nonsense on here I wonder if you are going to pass 4th grade.

Like I said you need a drug test, you accuse people of trying to destroy the program in an attempt to bring Schiano back, I repeat what you yourself said and you tell me I need reading comprehension. Did you ever stop to think that there would be nothing to leak if Fludd wasn't blatantly breaking the rules and trying to cover his tracks?

I believe Jules gained commitment from donors to cover the increased buyout amount negotiated in the extension which was $750k. His total buyout is now $1.5m.

And the report out of the email investigation left the door wide open to a finding of an ethics violation, which could come out of this ongoing investigation.

Um, you really have no clue about the prominent leak in Piscataway & the motives despite the destruction it has already caused & will cause if more comes out like people speculate, so you should stop. When Flood breaks rules or has players in trouble & the administration knows about it, they need to deal with it swiftly like other schools. If Flood broke more rules or when he initially broke rules & players got in trouble, then it should be dealt with swiftly. Instead, we have suspensions & multiple investigations lasting months. They could've fired Flood for the email fiasco or violating other policies.

Hey, keep Scarlet out of it ! lol. you 2 are providing more entertainment than the normal threads. I love when I'm not in these pissing matches. Over yet?

Flood would have been fired in September. However he never attended a compliance meeting because he was not forced to ever attend. RU went into self presevation mode after his attorney threatened a large defamation of character suit if he was terminated. Hence the new "investigation" launched shortly thereafter. The conclusion of this story was written in September. That conclusion does not include Flood in 2016.

So if this is known among folks who know these types of things, Flood knows. Which makes me believe he just sticking it to all of us with this whole Lavianova/Rettng situation, among others, as someone else previously mentioned. Funny thing is, winning cures everything, but maybe he's too dumb to realize that and would rather just toy with our emotions.
