I have no idea if Julie was any good or not, but her getting fired means that there are institutional issues and this could lead to NCAA sanctions.

Well if Pedd State can rape boys and lose a few scholarships as their penalty I'm pretty sure the NCAA won't do crap here.
Just waiting for that shoe to dropYep. Hopefully Rutgers avoids sanctions by catching this early, self-reporting, and maintaining institutional control.
This. This is why it's so important to follow up and investigate potential violations seriously and when found, self-report them, and even self-penalize, where appropriate. Assuming the report is the reason for Julie (and maybe Flood) being canned, since otherwise there were no grounds to fire her.Yep. LOL only we could have a losing season and get sanctioned.I have no idea if Julie was any good or not, but her getting fired means that there are institutional issues and this could lead to NCAA sanctions.

She should never have chosen. She simply wasn't ready for a job like this. As Flood wasn't.
Kate Sweeney better stay far away from this search.

you guys are so obsessed... it's really sad.
And perhaps you guys should pay a little more attention instead of blowing off the issue.
Julie's hiring is more troubling than her firing. That same mistake can't be made.
oh, well if you stand behind it, then it must be true!Julie losing her job sucks because you hate to see someone lose their job--but areyou, you and a couple of others have ignored the obvious and attacked those that had reasonable concern--believe me barchi would not have fired her if there was not more than ample reason
Why do you believe she's so underqualified? Just because football (which drives the boat) wasn't her focal point at Louisville?
Julie was honestly an idiot. She couldn't even do the most basic communication tasks. Barchi told her to let LeGrand know that he'd be a commencement speaker, just not the main speaker. Julie then leaves a voice message with LeGrand that he won't be speaking because Barchi chose another speaks for political reasons. She is a moron and a liability.

Women's soccer coach hire was excellent........she seems to get into trouble when she speaks. Why do you believe she's so underqualified? Just because football (which drives the boat) wasn't her focal point at Louisville?
So, now that the axe has fallen, we're right back to crossing our fingers that the very same leadership organs at Rutgers, who hired Hermann and extended Flood, properly sate our appetites for respectability and ego in football and men's basketball. That seems like nothing better than rolling a die and praying for one side over the other five, after so many of us demanded we go "all in" on firing everyone. Her actions have proven so, but beyond that, yes. She didn't touch football or basketball at UL. Those are important pieces when considering the next AD.
She was always a crapshoot, given the opportunity for reasons other than what she accomplished. Much like Flood.
Rutgers has to get this right now.
This.
Nothing says institutional control like a President taking charge and letting heads roll. The fact that Edwards was there when Julie was let go may be significant too. He's not just the New Brunswick Chancellor, he's the EVP for Academic Affairs (essentially the Chief Academic Officer) for the entire university.
I think Edwards was there as NB Chancellor who has responsibility for Rutgers New Brunswick. Rutgers is moving in the direction of having New Brunswick, Newark, and Camden operate as separate schools instead of branch campuses (much the way that UNC Chapel Hill, UNC Charlotte, and NC State all operate separately, even though they are all part of the University of North Carolina).
