The key is that its non-GMO. The whole GMO thing has scared off enough people (without warrant in my opinion) that researchers have gone back to (or continued to improve) more traditional techniques, just sped up using gene sequencing and stuff. Similar result (in some cases at least) without the bad PR that comes with GMO.
