My SO won't love 4 home weekends in a row to open the season, but this is probably the best schedule RU can hope for with a bye week before heading out west and another before traveling to Columbus.

I thought 8/30 was set for Ohio and 9/6 for Miami of Ohio, no? If so that leaves one more for 9/13, probably FCS. Although I guess they could slot it into a bye week if necessary.

Also, I assume that the Saturday dates are not carved in stone. One or more could be flexed to Friday. Or maybe the opener to Thursday?

I am seeing Norfolk State for 9/13, per this tweet:

Rutgers was close to playing State Penn on Black Friday. From The Athletic:

There were plenty of ideas that were scrapped during the scheduling process. One version included Rutgers and Penn State taking off the season’s penultimate week and then playing on Black Friday in Piscataway, N.J. But the residual impact on the entire schedule was too much, and the version with Nebraska at Penn State was chosen instead.

Looks like 7 wins can be attainable. I am going to predict the O/U is going to be 6.5 again
I think so - we need to portal up wisely.
Are you kidding? It’s horrible. 6 wins! Where are you gonna get a 7th win? Illinois or MN on the road?
Negativity will get you nowhere. Horrible how? Reasonable start to the season, nicely placed byes, other teams on the schedule that we either beat or were competitive against. You're not going to avoid teams like Oregon, OSU and PSU every year.

9 bowl teams… the ONLY good thing is that OSU and Creep State are last

Gotta beat MAC teams at home if you expect to be a strong B1G program. Get to 3-0.

Iowa at home? They still have a weak offense. Don't turn the ball over and it is a winnable game. We could be 4-0.

At Minnesota - early enough that weather won't be a major factor IMO. Minnesota gets a bye before us so that is not ideal. Still, it is definitely a winnable road game.

At Washington - this looks tough but we have a bye week to prepare. They travel to Maryland the previous week. Hopefully it is not another 11 PM kickoff.

Oregon at home - the week before, Oregon plays host to Indiana. Tough one no matter when it is on the schedule.

At Purdue - they are a disaster this year, how improved will they be next year? Another winnable road game.

At Illinois - don't call timeout this time! They face Washington on the road the previous week. We obviously are closely matched right now.

Maryland at home - Baby Tua's not walking through that door. Respect but don't fear the turtle. Win. Homecoming, or is this too late in the season for that?

At Ohio State - at least we get a bye the previous week. We get a bit of a "trap game" window playing them the week before they face Michigan.

Penn State on Senior Day - Motivation should not be lacking.

We only face one opponent coming off a bye.

Beat Kansas State, then go get another bowl bid!

I guess that’s the point…6 wins is all we can reasonably hope for…there is no 7th win on the schedule. If we get unlucky, we can be looking at 4-8.
We pretty much played Illinois straight up even this year at home. So, how is that an auto loss just because it is in Ill? We beat Minny and the score was actually closer than the game was. How does that turn into an auto loss?
They may be losses but for you to just turn them into a OSU level game is just either being a shitty fan or just a person that just wants to shit on our team.

6 wins and a bowl is success next year! To demand more is being a “shitty fan”.

I am not demanding more- I said that 7 was attainable. You took a team we beat fairly easy and made it a auto loss and a Team we did actually beat without the stupid TO and made it an auto loss.

I do think 6 wins and a bowl next year is a good season and if any of the big 3 teams- OSU/PSU/Org are close - then it is a huge step forward.

I was 100% only referencing the crap to your auto losses. That is very disrespectful to our team. Let's say we do as always and hold most of our starters away from being poached in the portal- We return the most solid offense we have had in over a decade that has been really clicking. Yes, we have to worry about the defense but the funny thing is- with all the injuries this year- a lot of the guys that would have been unexperienced, will be coming in with some experience.

6 is the win number we should look for next year to be a success with this schedule. 7 is very attainable. I am not one of these guys that "expected 8-10" wins this year either. I had the same expectations- 6 wins was good, 7 wins was better, 8-10 wins- running for COY...

I was thinking 8 possibly 9
First 6 ( upset Iowa with home-cooking) and Washington not the power it used to be
Road win at Purdue and the Illili lose at their house because the team just isn't playing like it did in 2023.
Then Maryland finds the Jersey crabs to tough for their Chesapeake liking and the Turtles leave with their shell broken.
That's a best case scenario being realistic.
But I never am so add upsetting Penn State at home and send them back to Happy Valley in a bad mood.

Hell I go completely nuts ( not are you nuts , he has a stalker I don't want looking my way 🤓)
by saying Greg will lead the Scarlet Knights to victory over the Buckeyes in Columbus and OSU fans will Day rue the Day they hired Ryan instead of Schiano.

Predicting schedules is impossible.
Nobody would’ve guessed Indiana would’ve beat the brakes off everyone and be a playoff team. Even Illinois was a shock.
Wisconsin was supposed to be , then they sucked, then they beat the brakes off us then they were average

All we know for sure is that OSU , Oregon and creeps from Pennsylvania will likely all be top 10 teams . Everything is likely a complete unknown at this point. Even ourselves. What will our defense look like next year with a whole new cast and new coordinator. What will our lines look like , which was a huge unexpected strength this season.

Iowa/Oregon--one will be homecoming, the other the Blackout game on a Friday night. UMD is Armed Forces salute and I want to storm the field after beating PSU on Senior Day. 😉
