yeah I tried to be kind with my prediction. I do think they will compete for a half and then run out gas. Much more interested in Saturdays game. I think Ace will have a game tonight.
I was really impressed with the way Bama got after it on D last night and on the boards. Worried they will bully RU too much. 82-66 Bama

Stop it guys. I know Greg Anthony was in the studio but Alabama is not UNLV of 20+ years ago. They had a war last night too.
I have no clue what is going to happen tonight, but this just like any B1G game. If we think we can't stay close with Alabama we aren't winning 10 B1G games. Doesn't mean we wont have a bad game and actually lose by 20, but expectations of losing bad, I hope, are silly.

They are going to need a shot blocker and Cliff should be hungry so unfortunately he could have a good game. However he was invisible when I watched and barely played. Cliff has been awful and tentative.
I don't think Cliff will see any minutes if/when we go small. He would have to guard Ace or Dercack or Jwill.
I don't think that's necessarily true, because I think it's pretty clear we aren't very good right now. But there are certainly worlds where we get good later in the season.

Its a total house money game. Bama is ranked in top 10. I am sure Rutgers will compete with the elevation of competition and another good test to move everybody forward.
Except they lost to Purdue but I actually agree I would still pick Bama to win the Big 10

yes we have more freshman than most...they also hit walls too which could be an issue down the road
I am actually not that optimistic. I know they have no time to prepare, but they have the assets to contain Dylan. That would make it necessary for others to step up.

I feel better after last night than I did after Kennesaw while also realizing Notre Dame is likely just a 10th place ACC pesky Bannon type team. Alabama is a whole other kind of elephant
There was unrealistic hyped about the team pushed by some here, mods, media. What we are finding out is that this isnt a tourney ready team. We need to approach them as a young team actually figuring out roles and how to win. Because these guys are only here for 1 years it has to happen at an accelerated pace. I think the Vegas experience will them exponential growth

Bama is 9th in the country in rebounding. We lose by a solid 20 points minimum.

Lot of things happen in these tourney. Rutgers can lose by 30 but they could lose by 8. Bama also had an OT game in a more physical game anf a third game to come Saturday. They could get up big then coast and the lead gets chipped down

No you may not....Overly dramatic is questioning why Ace was in the game at the end of regulation and then watching him hit the big shot on O and getting the rebound (finally) on the other end. 😐Can we pin this to the top of the board?
WIll be a lesson to Rutgers about the the type of defense you need to play to be a solid B1G team and get past the first weekend in the tournament. Bama 86-70. Then we seeif they learn the lesson moving forward. Glad we get to play these tough teams early instead of some of the cupcakes in the past. Don't need to see Lafayette on the schedule. Michigan State does this, they usually get beat, but it toughens them for later on.
Sure everyone gets better. The worlds in which this team is competitive involve us improving as a quicker rate. I would not take that for granted but I think it is possible for a few reasons:
- We have the #2 rated player and #2 projected draft pick who has not really played well or even helped us thus far. He certainly could end up being very good in a couple months.
- We have huge rebounding woes which Pike has shown an ability to fix in the past.
- We have huge defensive woes and while I think this is more difficult to fix than rebounding, Pike is an elite defensive coach working with almost an entirely new roster.
- For better or worse, Pike kind of sucks at the beginning of the year. It's bad because we go off and lose to Temple or Kennesaw State every year. It's "good", at least in this context, because it means what you see in the OOC is not necessarily what you get for the year.

yes and no. Not sure which is the right answer. Dercack and Jwill made shots last night that were huge for us longer term.
I get that, but let snot overlook that Burton is by far the best ND player, he played three minutes and we had to get to OT to win. Don't want to shit in anybody Cheerios but is what it is.
RU gets into an up and down slugfest, runs out of gas. I think Ace has a big night but rebounding and the inability to get a stop kill us in the end. Bama 105 RU 92

All I see is low percentage off balance jump shots.
What will his big night look like?
He’s streaky and a guy who needs to see it go through but if what I said above comes to fruition and it’s a wide open track meet, I like Ace’s ability to get easier buckets then he has, in transition when Rutgers gets running. A more wide open game will benefit his game imo, but I obviously could’ve wrong.
