THE OFFICIAL RUTGERS-MICHIGAN STATE PREDICTION THREAD

I predict a bounce-back performance and we keep it close through the first half or so, but Michigan State is just too much, plus it's on the road...

63 - 48 them.

Michigan State 73 Rutgers 56

The competition becomes harder and the Rutgers offense will continue a downward trend.

MSU 65 - RU 52

Will be interesting to see how this one goes... MSU is smaller, and very guard centric. Curious to see what sort of lineup Pike goes with. Their best player with height is 6-7 SF Miles Bridges, who has missed the last seven games with a sprained ankle and expects to come off the bench against us. Only two other guys have played this year at over 6-5, and none taller than 6-8.

Reversion back to my mean....

Michigan State 62
Rutgers 59

We are up 5 with 2 to go and lose. We play good defense, MSU takes us lightly, and someone on our team (probably Williams) hits 3 3 pointers in a 6 minute span. Halftime score RU 28 MSU 24

I think it all comes down to rebounding. We do have a taller roster than they do and they have been vulnerable to being outrebounded, if you look at some of their narrow wins. (Oral Roberts Golden Eagles? Only losing 76-80 to MSU? Outrebounding MSU 38-37 with 14 offensive rebounds?)

I'd like to think the Penn State game was a fluke attributed to a young team under a little bit of pressure trying to live up to the fresh buzz/hype that has been growing around them. When they saw that crowd with high expectations, they probably tightened up and couldn't get their mojo going. Going to MSU where they aren't expected to win and learning from their mistakes, they'll play better.

Oral Roberts was also the first game that MSU was without super frosh Miles Bridges (leading scorer and rebounder;16.6 ppg, 8.8 rpg), who went out with a sprained ankle and hasn't been back since - so they may have been trying to adjust without him. He's apparently expected to come off the bench against us tomorrow night.

forget their narrows wins, did you see their last two games where it appeared the young players were really turning the corner....wins at Minnesota and over Northwestern...two quality wins, they are back and they have the greatest coach in the league

A tough 7-9 point loss maybe leading to win at Iowa on Sunday

Encouraged about how SP is saying the team is responding after disappointing shooting game

Until this team shows me it can shoot against a team from an actual good basketball conference I can't help but being realistic. Worst case scenario that Bridges comes back this game too
