THE OFFICIAL RUTGERS-WISCONSIN PREDICTION THREAD

Start the game with Laviano, at half time bring
in the secret weapon, and we will win by a
field goal made by Federico. 24 to 21.

Is that the same Frederico who shanked a 30-yarder to kill the opening drive v. OSU?

noon start for us, 11 am start for them. They sleep through first half 14-10 us, then feel the caffeine in the 2nd 31-28. Oh, wait. Federico will miss an extra point...31-27. Book it.

CL plays the entire game:
UW 42 - RU 10

CL play half and Rettig takes over:
UW 38 - RU 24

You have the homers who no matter what will pick Rutgers to win. Why not be realistic and base your opinion on what you think will happen. No one wants to root against Rutgers but to pick hem every single game is not the point of assessing the game. Predictions shouldn't be based on your heart

exactly...the prediction threads can be anything you want but for me its about predicting what I THINK will happen. It does not make you a bad fan to predict against your team.

They don't give up points to challenged offenses, and we set weekly records for yardage allowed on defense.
They score to make it 28-7 with two minutes left in the half and we have no timeouts left to run our 2 minute offense.
Final score 41-14
Pretty much this imo.

Hi guys, hope you don't mind an interloper (and btw, I went with my daughter to a campus visit to RU about a year ago - interesting setup with the 5 campus areas, but I digress)...
That is a polite way to describe it.

PS - It's Halloween in Madison - that used to be a pretty huge unorganized spontaneous thing where something like 120,000 people in costume would party on State Street, but the city took it over about 10 years ago and attendance is now reportedly in the 25,000 range
Looking forward to my first trip to Madison. The Freakfest almost scared my travel partner off but told them it is much more subdued than prior years.

My mortal lock prediction: I will eat more fried cheese curds than I should.

Well, have fun. I will say that you can get the un-fried version at the Farmer's Market if you're going to be anywhere near the capitol on Saturday morning - the vendors will be yelling "guaranteed to squeak!" Not that it's that much more healthy for you, but there's not much that's more Wisconsin than the squeaky cheese curds.

Except maybe beer.

RU will have 7 sacks on the day. UW will have a tough time scoring. RU will have two touchdowns and two field goals.

RU 20
UW 17

78% chance of Rain and Rain is the great equalizer
Running games work best with back knowing where they cut
WRs who run good routes do better in rain as they get better separation
Kicking game is hurt in rain so that helps us as well as our kicker is shaky of late and we will rely less on Kyle's foot
All said and done who ever breaks +20 points first wins.

34-10 Wisconsin, though it's never that close. We get our TD in garbage time.
Our Flood lovers (they know who they are) continue to make excuses.

I was going to pick RU but when Badger said that a "really good" 2nd string QB was starting I have to pick Wisconsin instead. 28-7.

Rutgers Scarlet Knights 92

Wisconsin Badgers 3

As always, I reserve the right to modify my prediction as we get closer to game time.

Rain was a huge help for RU last year against Wisconsin. Had it not rained we would have lost by 60!

Exactly. You know who rain "helps" most of the time? The better, bigger, well-coached teams. That's it.

Upset special makes it a "Winnable Game"[jumpingsmile]
Rutgers Scarlet Knights:25
Wisconsin Badgers: 23

Wisconsin's defense is missing only a starting inside linebacker whose true freshmen replacement has been playing very well. The defense is also thin up front, but the play of the linebackers has compensated for that. That unit has been solid, even when the offense and special teams put it in a hole.

On the other hand, the offense is the most inept we've had for over a decade. With about five offensive linemen out (I've lost count), it's little wonder the team has been lacking explosive offensive plays all season. 21 to about 28 for the Badgers against about 3 to 10 for Rutgers.

I think I finally thawed out from the November 1 game last year sometime in May. Hopefully the weather in Madtown is better.

Enjoy a fun game prediction:
