I’m placing Maryland on upset alert, as tomorrow is a prime opportunity for a victory! We are Maryland’s homecoming opponent, and for that, they must pay.

The itinerary calls for stopping at Pats in Philadelphia, grabbing crab cakes in Baltimore, and enjoying Victory Champagne after the game with my fellow fans.

To maximize our chances for success, we must avoid the 3 Ms, which have plagued us for most of this season.

- Mental Mistakes
- Missed Tackles
- Missed Assignments

Priority #1 tomorrow is to stop beating ourselves. The penalties, turnovers, missed assignments, and mental mistakes are killing us. 10 penalties giving up,105 yards last week is unacceptable. We’re at Game 7 so we need to see progress in significantly reducing these. Thankfully, these are things that can be corrected, so I’m optimistic that we will make progress in this area tomorrow.

Arturs season hasn’t quite turned out the way many of us expected, especially me, but he is making progress, though it hasn’t come as quickly as many of us would have liked.

Nevertheless, Art isn’t getting benched as the staff has decided to go “All In” with Artur. What’s made Arturs situation particularly tough is that his supporting cast has played poorly. The two tackles have struggled in pass protection, which is why he has been taking too many hits. The running game hasn’t been all that effective and his Receivers need to do a better job of catching the ball. Off course, Artur has made his share of high profile mistakes such as multiple pick 6’s in the Kansas game which facilitated a blowout. Hard for fans to erase mistakes like that from memory because the team went into the tank during that game.

But Artur did make progress last week in throwing for 267 yards, but it was overshadowed by his 3 interceptions. What is significant, however, is the diversity of players Artur threw too. Also, the offensive line made significant strides in pass protection, which gave Artur adequate time to deliver the ball.

Two of our receivers had breakout games. Bo Melton and Travis Vololek had 70 and 47 yards receiving, respectively. Both these guys are potential 100 yard receivers, so it was good to see them making an impact. Blackshear, Eddie Lewis and Shameen Jones continued to contribute with
Multiple catches. Arturs improvement in throwing the ball should spur the running game, which hasn’t been as effective as expected. But there have been bright spots, such as Jonathan Hillimans 32 yard run last week.

The defense actually did well on most plays last week, but those plays where mental lapses Occurred killed us. Fatigue caused by lack of depth, could be a contributing factor. Kevin Wilkins was a standout last week, notching 6 tackles, including 3 tackles for loss. He seems to be playing his way into the NFL, so hope to see similar performances.

Everybody needs to pull themselves together and deliver their best performance tomorrow. We beat Maryland last year on a pick 6 Running the ball. This year, I think we run well, pass well, and the defense does just well enough to notch the victory.

I’m gonna go with:

Rutgers 24
Maryland 21

I think Al is a passionate fan and feels that his inflated rhetoric helps him and/or the team in some way stay focused. I'll bet that in "real life" he knows that the chances of another win this year is slim, and that Ash needs to go. I challenge him to tell me otherwise.

Maryland will be without question the 2nd best team we have face all season thus far.

Considering damn near every lost thus far have been blowouts, the odds that this will also be an ugly blowout lost in front of dozens of fans is very likely.

I'm willing to give Ash 2 more years. If the ship isn't righted by that time, then buy him out.Al may not be wrong, just a bit premature.

Sorry Al - the only one "gassed up" us you.

I don't read his posts anymore as they are all the same and have gotten really old. I would think the Victory Express is running on empty.

I guess he is going to keep posting his versions of reality every week? Assuming he didn't have the Texas State game on upset alert, he is very, very wrong week after week!
His reasoning and lists are just based on the team some how turning it all around and suddenly discovering talents that just don't exist.
I hope, for his sake, that he has a better grip on real life than this shows.

I have a feeling Northwestern will be next up on the upset alert train. After that, I guess MSU is the next best candidate. I can't believe Al would put Wisconsin, PSU, and/or Michigan on upset alert, he might lose all of his hard fought credibility.

Even by OPs standards it is a BAD year because I have yet to read any reference to us being the “Bama of the North” or “Ohio State of the East”...

The RutgersAl Victory Express might be gassed up, but the Rutgers Football Victory Express keeps putting gasoline in a diesel engine

Al - I think you mean "The 2Ms" since Missed Assignments are Mental Mistakes. This mistake H-Bombs your analysis which followed. Hang it up.

Next time he post this, everyone should agree with him

Frankly, I think this really should not be an upset. Rutgers will win this one going away. Frankly, I don't know why Al is so pessimistic by calling this imminent win an upset!

While technically Rutgers is a 24 point underdog, when one looks at the facts objectively, we should be a big favorite. Here's why:
1) Talent: HC Chris Ash knows what it takes to win in the BiG and he learned from one of the world's best recruiters in Urban Meyer. Ash now has 3 years of recruits and 75% of this roster is composed of the type of players that he knows are needed to win a National Championship. The remaining 25% of the roster has been forged into National Championship shape by the Parker Plan.

2) Schemes: OC McNulty and DC Niehman have been playing with their gameplans the way a Cy Young pitcher plays with his pitches in spring training. Playtime is over. The coaching staff is ready to unleash a gameplan that is logistically and biometrically in tune with the lineups

3) We are due and it is once in a lifetime anomaly that we are not undefeated.
Play the Kansas game 100 times. We win 99 times. 90 of those wins are blowouts.
Play the Buffalo game 100 times. We win 99 times. 70 of those wins are blowouts.
Play the Ohio State game 100 times. We win 60 times. 30 of those wins are blowouts.
Play the Indiana game 100 times. We win 95 times. 70 of those wins are blowouts.
Play the Illinois game 100 times. We win 99 times. 70 of those wins are blowouts.

It is galatically bad "Slumdog Millionaire" luck that we lost any game besides the OSU game. We should be favored in this game v Maryland, a program that is imploding. We are supremely due.

Rutgers 45
Maryland 3

We'd score 70 if Ash kept a foot on the gas pedal for 60 minutes.
