Interesting observation:
If all goes according to plan today (i.e. all the higher ranked teams win), then the top-5 conferences will all have been won by a new member in their first season:
1. Oregon wins the B1G (former PAC)
2. Texas wins the SEC (former XII)
3. SMU wins the ACC (LMAO @ACC)
4. Ariz St already won the XII (former PAC)
5. Army already won the AAC (independant)
Is this all a coincidence? Or is there a pattern? Existing conference teams not used to the different styles of football coming into their leagues? How the heck does SMU come in from the American year 1 and win the ACC with 0 payout? How can Texas who has been terrible in the XII for years, magically come into the mighty SEC and steal their lunch money? Crazy times.
