Yeah you missed the point completely. Probably isn’t on your cheat sheet to read from. Oh wait it’s 330 so you’re probably in bed or hiding in Your basement. Let’s try again tomorrow. Lol

Dude made himself into the Gary Nova of RU basketball. Good player who is completely unlikable.

Wish I could be there when reality hits this kid in 1-2 years when he's back in New Hampshire making 38k a year as a gym teacher that maybe his life wasn't so bad at RU being the man and having everything free.

The guys who hate Geo for his off court interests are gonna be annoyed when he winds up on Pikiells staff down the line.
Why would anyone have an issue with that?

If he he can recruit and/or coach...

I would have liked them to have chosen a different approach to the protest. They were right that a delay in the game start might not have been effective. But maybe something on their uniforms, or a display of some sort at the tipoff might have gotten their point across.

Protesting is as American as mom, apple pie, and the Boston Tea Party. Their point, imo, is well-taken. A lot of the players have families that are very poor. They see their coaches making hundreds of thousands, and even millions of dollars, while their families struggle. They see the NCAA making a ton of money. To think that there is something that isn't right here is not difficult.

The problem is what do you do about it? It would be easy enough to say that each player on the basketball team should get, say, $50k a year in addition to the scholarship. That would only be three-quarters of a million dollars, and easily doable for most schools. But there are hundreds of scholarship athletes at most schools, and with the exception of football and basketball, the sports don't make money. And what about gender equity?

It's a difficult problem without easy solutions, but I congratulate Geo on having the courage to bring it to the forefront. He is standing for a lot of folks.

I guess more of the interview will come out on Saturday. I will tell you what, it is a VERY GOOD thing that Geo made the right choice here. That is what being a leader actually is. Sacrificed some of his goals for those of teammates, staffs and fans

"We definitely talked about delaying games," Baker told Davis during an interview that will air Saturday during College GameDay. "Us and Clemson actually were talking about delaying the game, but basically what ended up happening was we all believed that the television channel was going to get changed as soon as we tried something. So it ended up not going through.

Baker and the 10th-seeded Scarlet Knights beat Clemson 60-56 last Friday for their first NCAA tournament victory in 38 years. The senior guard told Davis that Clemson's players were interested in delaying the game but were concerned about the reaction from the Tigers' coaching staff.

Baker also said he didn't want a pregame protest to overshadow the rare March Madness appearance for Rutgers, which was playing its first NCAA tournament game since 1991.

"It was a unique situation because we hadn't made the tournament in 30 years, so I didn't want to ask guys to go out of their way to delay something or protest something that Rutgers fans haven't seen in 30 years," Baker told Davis during the interview, which also included Livers and Bohannon. "That's a really long time ... [but] we definitely talked about it.
This guy is a total clown. Anyone who can’t see how this impacted our tournament run has never been athlete. Get this idiot out of a Rutgers uniform. What a distraction

How did it impact our tournament run? We won the game they talked about delaying.

He went into a championship competition
With his focus being on a cause that was “a lot bigger than winning a couple of basketball games”
Don’t see how that fits into the John Wooden Pyramid.
please this is the NCAA tournament. Obviously you never competed on a level anything close to this even the best player would not be prepared for this Comp with that in his mind. Geo is far from that. Move on Geo do Rutgers a favor go get a job and get paid

Got it. So it impacted the tournament run because of something something mindset something something distractions.

Just so we’re clear, what happened for the first 35 minutes of the Houston game? Was the team not distracted for those? It was just the last 5 minutes?

When you are tweeting about these issues late at night before the first game and also tweeting about the food while calling the NCAA clowns, you are undoubtedly engaged in the responses as well. All that while trying to decide whether or not to delay the game. That’s not exactly laser focussed and totally messed up priorities on the night before Rutgers first tournament game in 30 years. The timing was entirely selfish.
