I will start by saying that I’m happy we have Athan, and I believe he is a step up from our QB play last year.
However, I have a good friend who attended U of Minnesota and follows their football team religiously. When Arhan transferred to RU, he said the following:
“You’re going to love him until you don’t. There are times he makes throws that make you thankful that he’s there, but he is also only a 50% passer and his lack of accuracy is going to drive you nuts.”
It’s easy to say that if a good receiver can get his hands on a ball, that he should be able to catch it. However, the drops today all had a similar look to them as the many drops/misses in prior games. It feels like he’s more consistently throwing behind the receiver than not. He doesn’t make it easy to catch many of his passes.

His arm strength and accuracy is better than Gavin’s, and he’s better at hitting wheel routes and flats, but I feel like my friend nailed the description - there are times you love him, but there are subtly more times than I wish that he’s making me pull my hair out.
