Thurs Night Pitt VT game thread...what better way to

Just curious, Pitt has a decent team this year and played a spirited game in a losing effort against V-Tech. Why the poor attendance? Is the stadium far from campus? Also, the stadium looks much much bigger than ours, do the Steelers also play in this stadium?
Pitt had 42,000 for that Thursday night game. Which usually doesn't bring in the big crowds. Their average attendance this year is 51,000.

The reason why Pitt gets a bad wrap about attendance is the fact they play in a stadium that holds 70,000.

When ND, Penn st, WVU comes in there. Its very close to sold out. When teams like UNC, GT they got 53,000.

Thursday nights the most they will get is 45,000

If Pitt had a stadium the size of Baylor, TCU, Stanford, Oregon, Mississippi st and other 50,000 seat Stadiums. Pitt's so called lack of attendance perception goes out the window

Pitt inflates their attendance averages a lot (other schools of course do too).

Not even close to 42k in their stadium last game.
I don't know if you have ever been in Heinz field. But when its a cold or rainy day. Most of the folks hang inside the stadium instead of sitting at their seats. Then watch the game with their many TV's throughout the stadium
