Big story on Joe Moglia, who I fully believe should be the next coach for the Rutgers Scarlet Knights.

Not sure if this link will work, but I think this is (or leads to) a preview of tonights show on Showtime.

Sorry to burst people's bubbles, but we aren't affording Rhule/O'Brien/Fuente/Richt/PeLLLLini.

So you either hire a failure like Golden, or you think out of the box with a guy like this or Morehead. Difference is, this guy has the JUICE to walk into a house and out-recruit James Franklin.

He's 66, but that doesn't scare me. He's got the juice of a 36-year-old. I'd take him in a New York minute. Give him a 5-year deal, surround him with a solid staff and we're off and running. In five+ years, we'll be raking in the B1G big money and be able to replace him and not be hamstrung by financial issues.

I either read or have seen a special on him before when he was first going there. I thought it was on 60 minutes a few years ago. Not sure though. I'll give the guy credit he's got a huge set of balls. To leave a CEO job to go and coach a small college team I don't think many would do it. But this guy followed his passion and is succeeding, pretty incredible story.

Bo Pellini is being paid by Nebraska for several more years. He was hired by Youngstiwn State for about $237,000 -- so why exactly couldn't we give him a nice raise and afford him!?!

Think his team lost this weekend.

Lots of teams lost this weekend.

We could, but usually contracts like that have clauses that require the person to get relative pay, so Pelini can't take a contract for $1, just to stick it to Nebraska. Pelini has other issues that I'd worry about with him. He had a toxic relationship with the Nebraska fan base. Dared the Nebraska AD to fire him, etc.

Why are we not affording Rhul. He is not priced out of our market. The only other P5 school that he is possibly an option for is Maryland, and I would bet that they are shooting for someone with more of a name because of the UA money. VT, USCe, Georgia, and Miami are not going to bring in a Northeastern Coach from Temple. Rhul likely has to strike while he's hot too because he is losing a lot of Senior starters after this season. There is no way they are going to be as good next year and his star will not be as bright. Kind of like GS after his 2006 season.

RU should be able to land him if they want him without having to break the bank for him like they would with a more established coach. It will still cost more than Flood, though

That's an interesting option. Can probably get him for free with no buyout clause...that's much better than what we have right now.

The guy just had College Gameday at his school. No doubt a Maryland/BC/Virginia/VT is going to offer him at least $2.5M. He is a pipedream candidate/

Also, in case your memory serves you wrong, Miami's last coach was a Northeast guy from Temple. It has happened before. I don;t expect The U the introduce their fans to another one, but it is time to get off of Rhule.

So what. James Madison had game day 2 weeks ago when they played Richmond. That's impresses some fans, but do you really think that makes a difference to any search committee? Game day wasn't there because of Matt Rhul. It was ND and a nice story in Temple.

No doubt? More like no way. BC is not going to be in the Market for a new coach let alone another Temple coach. There is no way VT entertains that kind of money for a North Eastern coach. Maryland has UA money. They will likely shoot hire and if that falls through, no way they bring him in anywhere close to $2.5million. UVA may offer him, but he will not warrant that kind of money. He would top at $1.5 millionat the most. He only has a 2 year track record.

Anyone doing due dilegence on him will realize that he had 19 or 20 returning starters this year. Most of them were recruited by someone else. To get that $2.5 million that you are suggesting, he will have to show that he can win just as much next year after he loses most of his key skill position players this year. That's another reason why Ruhl relly has to make a move to a P5 team this year if he really wants to because Temple is likely to drop off some next year. Rhul may never get this hot again.

I like him as a coach and he seems to be able to get recruits on campus even if it is to see other teams. The thing I like about him the most is that he plays a pressure defense. His DB's play press/man coverage while he bring a lot of pressure in the backfield. That's the kind of thing they we are missing here. You can't sit in soft zones while you're blitzing and expect recievers to not be open. RU has more talent on D than Temple, but Rhul seems to know how to use what he has much better.

Uh, we're currently paying Coach Rhule $1.5M a year...
