NEW YORK - Rutgers redshirt senior guard Tyler Scaife was named the All-Met Division I women's college basketball Player of the Year and redshirt junior Stasha Carey earned Third Team All-Met honors, it was announced on Tuesday by the Met Basketball Writers Association.

Scaife, who earlier this month became the 20th Scarlet Knight to be selected in a WNBA draft after being picked up by the Phoenix Mercury in the second round, led Rutgers to a 14-game improvement from last season behind a team-leading 19.4 points per game. The Little Rock, Arkansas native finished her career "On The Banks" with 2,233 career points placing her name second all-time in scoring at RU. Scaife landed on numerous watch lists throughout the 2017-18 campaign including the Wade Trophy for the best player in women's basketball, the Dawn Staley Award for the country's top guard and Ann Meyers Drysdale Award honoring the nation's top shooting guard. She was also bestowed with WBCA Regional All-American honors and was a First Team All Big-Ten pick by both the coaches and media.

In her first season at Rutgers, Carey created an immediate impact as a starting forward going on to collect 7.5 points and 6.8 rebounds per game. Additionally, she registered 1.9 steals per contest, which tied her for fifth in the Big Ten. The Cleveland, Ohio product performed three double-doubles on the season including a season-high 23-point, 14-rebound effort in an overtime win over Minnesota in mid-January. Carey, an Honorable Mention All-Big Ten pick by the media, led the Scarlet Knights in rebounding on 12 occasions and in steals in eight matchups.
