Very OT: Acceptable radon levels in NJ to change?

This board is a source of arcane knowledge so I'll give this a shot:
We're looking to sell our house in the spring and we have a basement. When we were buying our house in 2008, it had a radon level that tested at 3.8 pCi/L so the previous owners installed a remediation system and then it tested at 2.7 pCi/L.

We had a realtor walk through our house to give us some advise on how to prep the house for a spring listing and he mentioned that NJ would lower the threshold to 2.5 pCi/L next year. Has any heard of that potential change? I would imagine that would entail a law that would have to be passed.
 
I know the threshold was 4.0, can't speak to any proposed change. I had a remediation system installed and went from 3.9 to 0.1, surprised to hear you were still at 2.7 after installation.

I am thinking it may not be working properly. I read that most places recommend you keep it under two.

I checked on this for you. As of right now, the threshold is 4.0. My contact at DEP did not mention any potential lowering of that level (which has been in place for over thirty years). (DEP could do so administratively without the state legislature passing a law.) But keep in mind that DEP does recommend that, even if the level is below 4.0, you talk to a mitigation specialist about ways to diminish your level. BTW, like a previous poster, I am surprised that, even after remediation, t he level is still 2.7

If only we could figure out a way of turning Radon into electricity...
