Needs to be a wake up call. Defense was the biggest problem this year but he needs to be forced to bring in an assistant to run some semblance of an offense. We’ve run iso for nine years and it has a ceiling in terms of how far you can go. We get few layups other than for the sheer one v one ability of individual players. We need an athletic rim protect , rebounder for the 5. Plus we will need at least one scorer from the portal.

Needs to be a wake up call.

I think Pike had a wakeup call before the season even started. He probably knew in a week defense was going to be a major problem. He changed the way we defend on the perimeter and getting through screens. We would switch on screens 1-4 or even 1-5 before, but not when there were no screens. Our man defense was very matchup zonesque. Really puzzled by things all year as our players never got it.

I have no doubt that there was hurt in the locker room and I know for sure Dylan left it all out there. I have no doubt others on the team left it all out there as well... my problem is I don't think EVERYONE left it all out there and the team was never put in a position to succeed for the last 32 games

Robbie Hummel critiqued that Pike wishes he scheduled differently this season... if that means removing stupid road neutral games against lower tier opponents then I am all for it but if that means get out of the feast week tournaments then he is missing the boat on proper scheduling

Of course he’s gonna be hurt . He’s devestated. He just took the opportunity of a coaching lifetime and blew it.
