Was Greg asked about the KM non touchdown?

I examined the play frame by frame, It looks like KM's left shin was down prior to crossing the ez. If someone made a video of the play zoomed in and slowed down it would show it.
Wow. Definitely needed a camera angle at field level on the goal line like the NFL has.

Can’t see the other leg to see if knee hit… that said neither could they! so that’s a TD. Bulkshif.

It's really hard to tell from the camera angle. I thought there was a slow motion replay that was closer where we didn't see his knee hit until the ball was over the line.

Should have been called a TD on the field and then reviewed. No way the referee on the far side was able to see Kyle's body and he called it short. Then to make it worse they placed the ball on the one instead of the 6" line.

Horrible call. Crazy really

Ok Minny gets a review on a non TD call but we don’t. You could see nothing in the scrum but the call gets reversed because of body position. WTF are they doing in Chicago?
I thought he was in and upper body was but didn’t think they would overturn cause you couldn’t see the ball. Sometimes they don’t make the inference without actual visual evidence.

I think the better question is why did FS1 never show the goal line pylon camera view from either side. That should have been a much better view than the standard game camera angle which can distort things heavily since it's at a 45 degree angle to the line of scrimmage.

PJ Fleck did it the right way. Stubborn Greg ****ed up. Fleck called a timeout and let them review it. Greg just took the ref’s word for it.
Except they were already blowing the whistle to indicate a replay review while PJ was still in the process of yelling at the sideline official. His theatrics had no bearing on the review occurring.

This was my issue with the play. It was either a TD or on the goalline. Should have been reviewed for the spot worst case.

I thought Loyal was in before that play and no review there either but they reviewed Nebraska in a very similar situation. Greg did get them to review later on near midfield and they still called us short. In that case we got the first down and on the goal line we had 3 shots and went nowhere. We can complain about the refs and Greg and Kurt but we were getting stonewalled all day. The first drive Monangai made some really great runs and cut backs. They adjusted and shut us down. Life on the road in the BIG.

Our D played great. Some mistakes in gap integrity but tackling was much better. Really good. And coverage was great. We even got some pressure at the end with some sacks.

The most positive thing from this game is the way the defense played, especially in the 2nd half - outstanding. They need to improve that OG spot due to injury. That could be a real problem going forward, especially in this conf. There is nothing more disruptive to an offense than DTs in the backfield. Also they need QB under center inside the 5 yd line, run some power formations, similar to what Neb did. Don’t like the shotgun there. Not a fan of the tush push unless it’s inside the 1 yd line.

I examined the play frame by frame, It looks like KM's right shin was down prior to crossing the ez. If someone made a video of the play zoomed in and slowed down it would show it.
I went back and looked at it and because he was falling sideways, there does appear to be a point where the sideline official could have observed his ankle/shin as possibly down on the ground. It's not entirely conclusive but impossible for replay to overturn either.

If he was falling forward from an upright position instead of sideways he's probably in the end zone.

They spotted the ball at the 1/2 yard line. We're talking about a foot or less that they could have moved the ball forward. Would it have made a difference? We could have gone with a tush push from the 1/2 yard line and chose not to use it. That was probably the only call that would have succeeded there.

It does not matter if we weren't good enough yesterday. How good we play should have zero impact on ball spots. It is some cheating BS that was going on on some official's parts.. not all.. legit defensive holds were called on Nebraska that upset the fans and PIs were missed both ways.

So not seeing something is not what is being complained about. Both the KM TD and 1st down were denied by BS on-field spots and coupled with no review on the TD and the WRONG review, totally unsupported by video on the 1st down... it is just indicating there is something else going on.

PJ had to have the play reviewed, because the game was over if the call was not reversed, RU had 6 chances to score & had already been told that the play had been reviewed & that it was not a TD.

Can't believe all these people trying to use PJ's antics to justify their narrative for our game. Very low IQ argument basically.

Both plays were reviewed. One had definitive proof to overturn the call on the field so the ref was signaled to go to the monitor. Ours did not so it was play on.

I hear you but for the life of me I can’t understand how any angle/shot in that moment could have been viewed that quickly when a quarter of his body was in the end zone and said, hey we don’t need to take a look.

The play was reviewed since it was a potential scoring play. Everything is reviewed by the B1G in Chicago this year and they signal the game referee if he should go to the monitor. Not sure if it’s one person assigned to each game or if they have multiple people reviewing different angles. This one didn’t go our way.

The biggest issue is that FS1 didn’t show the replay where they said he was down. We only had the live action shot.

After so many years of me taunting, trolling and teasing you, along with everyone else, on the CE board, it might surprise you to know that I like you and think you’re both a decent person and pretty intelligent. But holy moly do you have one heck of conspiracy-theory, persecution-complex, victim thing going on. 😀

Hey, just ‘cause you’re paranoid doesn’t mean they’re not all out to get you. 😉

you cannot deny that the replay officials not reviewing teh TD run.. or the 1st half interception by Nebraska and then getting it completely wrong on the 1st down run after we had to call a timeout and demand a review.... that means nothing to you? Why? Why does that mean nothing to you? Why do you have such a need to not complain about officials or assume there had to be some ill-intent when such "mistakes" get repeated as obviously as they did?

Sure, you can just pose and say anyone who complains about refs has issues... but just swallowing being treated improperly.. repeatedly.. is not exactly a sign of great mental health.

Ever notice how people who say you shouldn't complain about the officials never consider how so many hall fo fame coaches complained about officials?

Big YUGE difference between “means nothing” (which I never said, there you go again making stuff up about me) and “the refs are not out to get us” (which is what I said, in not so many words). Of course I thought there was some bad officiating. It happens. But it’s not because the refs are out to get us.

Fans complaining about refs is a totally pointless but otherwise harmless waste of time. Have fun with it. It’s fine.

But saying the refs are intentionally out to get RU is where the reality train jumps the logic track. That’s just pure paranoid conspiracy theorist persecution complex wackiness.

But dude, it’s okay. It’s just who you are and I love you for it.

It cannot just be bad officiating. That is so unlikely. It doesn't have to be a "conspiracy". People calling others conspiracy nuts often make the mistake... one person's bias or motivation causing them to punish a team unduly is not a conspiracy.. it is a bad actor. There can even be multiple bad actors acting out their bias independently of one another.. again.. not a conspiracy.

Yeah.. there are other possibilities that are not a specific anti-Rutgers bias.

- gambling has never been more accessible to official or their families and friends.. it has happened in the past when gambling was more hidden.. why not now?
- laziness.. replay official too lazy to review plays he should.. and again. bias may be involved..
- perhaps the replay officials have to handle multiple games at the same time and are focused on another game
- general star treatment for the big name programs.. like Nebraska
- poorly trained or experienced officials
- personal bias in favor of one coach over the other based on any number of factors

When a replay video clearly shows a result that the replay official allows an on-field call to "stand".. an on-field call not represented by the visual evidence even during the play.. I do not think chalking it up to simple bad officiating shows the proper concern for other problems that could be systemic and need to be addressed to make the officiating system function better for everyone.

Fake news, the replay from the game footage shows that somewhere from his ankle to mid-shin were potentially down prior to reaching the goal line. You clearly have not gone back and attempted to watch it in slo-mo or you wouldn't be writing these pity party posts.
