... and righfully so, but I think it's only far we call him out for the NICE postgame things he said about our team. I don't buy that he was hyping us up to make their win look better. My gut is he was being genuine and honest, and if that is the case, well then he def. comes off as being a pretty good dude. Quote:
"We proved that we're the best team in New Jersey," Delgado, who had 19 points and 16 rebounds to win the MVP. "(But) they beat me up! That coach really doing a really good job. I really (have) a lot of respect for Rutgers now because they showed us that they can beat us. I wish them the best."

I really did like him calling us out before the game. We deserved it. We definitely challenged them, and he backed up the talk. Hopefully next time we get the win. But SHU/RU being competitive is great for both schools.

I don't understand all the chatter about Delgado.He said defeating Rutgers is a big deal in NJ and he backed up his prediction of a win by dominating the game in the second half.Hopefull;y, Rutgers will have talented players like Delgado and Carrington in future seasons.

Truthfully, we did beat them all up in the first half. If we had any real scorers on the team, we could have possibly put the game out of reach for them to win. Not doubting his sincerity, but he would sounded like a fool if he just dissed us after what happened.

Just an FYI guys. I was there when he made the comments last week. The juicy stuff was posted. But not this....he stated that off the court we are friends but on the court we want to kill each other.

I saw Delgado after the game Friday and he complimented RU on how hard they played and noted how sore his body is because of that.

Delgado looked like a pro playing college basketball. And we did a decent job on him in the first half. He really broke out in the second half and dominated on the boards. I think his comments after the game were probably very genuine. I'm sure most SHU fans were not expecting to be down 9 at the half or playing such a tight game of 75-80%. When they got it to a 7 point lead and they were in the double bonus it was over.

It seems like every game is like that in league. All these teams run waves of bigs at you. Can't wait to face Swanigan!
