But the same offensive inefficiency, and that’s in a Q3 game. Wait til the big dogs come to play. The talent infusion into the team was all hype. And scheduling is just as important as recruiting and coaching and it was blown to satisfy a few alumni. Foolish to start with a game that gives you no juice if you win and is counted the same as a Q4 loss. Start the whole season in a hole. Beat some cupcakes now and get overconfident for the tough games. The team will forge tonight but the committee won’t.

Speed got Rutgers players to the basket but they missed at least ten layups.Princeton won the game from the 3 point line while Rutgers shot bricks.

There was a hole in d-fence. Princeton guards looked like all americans tonight. Yikes. Pike always struggles to find the right combos early in the season...and this opener was no different.

I think you're drawing way too strong a conclusion from one game.
I am usually able to take a loss and not to take too much out of it. I always like to say evaluate based on a series of 5 games and not 1.

I am probably too emotional but this feels different.

This feels like I just found out the girl I have been dating really isn't a girl.

Pike does not have the team ready yet, shameful he was put in this position to play Princeton right out of the gate....totally different game if this was game 5 or 6

I don’t know about the last part but I am worried as well. I think people are going to be surprised with who ends up playing the most minutes this year.

I think it's reasonable to be worried. We looked bad. On the other hand, we recently started a season like this:
DATEOPPONENTRESULT/LINE
Wed 11-10H58302 (Ⅳ)LehighW, 73-70 OT81
Sat 11-13H68295 (Ⅳ)MerrimackW, 48-3558
Tue 11-16H67344 (Ⅳ)NJITW, 75-6166
Thu 11-18A74105 (Ⅱ)DePaulL, 73-7064
Mon 11-22H77314 (Ⅳ)LafayetteL, 53-5167
Sat 11-27A98192 (Ⅲ)MassachusettsL, 85-8369
Tue 11-30H9470 (Ⅲ)ClemsonW, 74-6467
Fri 12-03A8720 (I-A)IllinoisL, 86-5170

with a much more established roster, and ended up making the tournament.

And that is why i dont mind playing princeton. We are at Game 7 right now.

that pretty much was my argument. We dug a hole so deep that it was almost a miracle to recover.

Problem is the solution to that year was removing Jones from rotation and reducing Hyatts minutes.

Hyatt is still here and starting.

I don't understand how playing Princeton teleports us to game 7? We played Princeton, we can see there are problems. We could also see that when we were playing overtime against Lehigh, scoring 48 on Merrimack, and losing to Lafayette.

Princeton gameplanned to our weaknesses and exposed them in an obvious way.

Pike benched 3 starters at half for bad D. It took him until Game 6 if i recall to make lineup changes.

Well, while this game was certainly an unwanted kick in the cubes, at the very least, (and I do mean the very least), we don't currently reside at the bottom of the B1G. That "de-STINK-tion" presently belongs to MSU.

That said, we're just one spot ahead of them...with 12 other teams ahead of us. UGH!
