Still a week away and uncertainty is high, unlike the past few games. Right now, looks like a cool front comes through on Friday into Saturday, cooling things off a bit and bringing the chance for some showers. Highs right now are expected to be in the low/mid-50s (after temps near 60F late in the week) on Saturday, after starting off in the low/mid-40s in the morning (not too cold).

Way too far out to be able to predict the exact timing of the front or the likelihood and intensity of showers associated with it and any shortwaves that develop on or along the front. Could be one of those forecasts, which remains uncertain right up until gametime (with respect to showers).

Who cares? As long as we lose and Flood is fired on Sunday.

I doubt it but Are umbrellas allowed inside the stadium? The one game I'm going and it's going to be raining lol.

3rd straight week of warm temps then the coolest day being Saturday AND with rain this time. Can't wait!

This season cannot end fast enough. Just would like to concentrate on basketball.

I can't make myself root against the team and, in a way, I want RU to be faced with the tougher choice of getting rid of Flood at 5-7. It will be a very telling moment for the school and athletic department.

I know people like to think the big influx of revenue in a few years will change things, but I go by the motto "money doesn't change things, it just gives you the freedom to be more of what you already are".

If they don't fire Flood this year, that just tells me that in 5 years Rutgers athletics will be just as inept and continuing to make bad decisions, albeit more expensive ones.

Hopefully rain goes out of the forecast. I want to see a true account of the no shows for this game without dealing with no shows for the weather. Ok weather I see 27k....bad weather its 15k
-------
Both numbers would be depressing and I refuse to believe it would be that bad, especially the good weather guess.

We had a lot of fans, an impressive amount, at the army game, that being an away game..... A lot of fans still care
To see RU football.

The way I see it, we have seven or so games at home a year.. I wait about 10 months between seasons impatiently and wish we had more..... I don't miss a chance for a home game, and I think most season ticket holders will go.

I think some here hope the turnout will be bad, in an effort to oust the coach...... The coach may be gone but it probably will not be because of a few no shows saturday

My guess is upper 30's minimum in the house if weather is good, and probably more.

Don't give RU "leadership" any excuse to do nothing, because they will likely take advantage of that. Remember USF in 2013 and IU in 2014. Both were games that if Flood lost he was gone. But we continue to linger on in purgatory and the program continues to get destroyed.

Any update on the weather for the game?
Odd, I posted an update yesterday and it's just not there. Hmmmm. Anyway, no real change - looking mild with a chance of showers associated with the front. Just too early to know the timing of the front, although we can hope the latest Euro is correct, as it shows the front coming through later on Saturday, which might delay both the showers and the possibly gusty winds behind the front. Alternatively, we can hope the front is through early and showers are done by early Saturday (which would mean cooler/windier, but drier conditions). As I said in my first post on this, I have a feeling we're not going to nail this one down until a day or two before the game (if that).

SATURDAY...CONSIDERABLE CLOUDINESS AHEAD OF AN APPROACHING COLD
FRONT. POSSIBLE SHOWER(S). EARLY MORNING STRATUS/FOG? SW WIND
EARLY MAY GUST 15 MPH BEFORE SHIFTING NORTHWEST GUSTY 25 MPH.
COLDER AT NIGHT! THE ECMWF HAS BEEN LAGGING ON THIS COLD FRONT PROGRESSION AS COMPARED TO THE MORE PROGRESSIVE GFS. UNCERTAINTY REGARDING MAX TEMPS DUE TO TIMING OF THE FRONT.

Starting to look a bit more grim for the forecast, as the cold front timing is looking to be centered around very early Saturday through Saturday afternoon, such that the chances of precip are centered on that time frame, i.e., from late Friday night until Saturday evening. Doesn't mean it's going to be a washout, but could very likely be some off and on showers for the tailgates and the game. And with temps in the low 50s and breezy conditions, it might not be so pleasant.

For comparison, last year's PSU game had about 0.25" of rain during the tailgates and into the early part of the game - that's not a huge amount (most wouldn't consider it a "washout"), but it's enough to get people pretty wet and that much is possible for Saturday. Still enough time for the forecast to change, but the chances for a dry tailgate/game are looking low right now. It's more about hoping the rainfall is light and intermittent.

Well there you go. Great way to end the season lol!

I thought it was impressive when it was raining at the Michigan St-Ohio St game most of the stadium had red ponchos on...Curious does HPSS sell red ponchos? if not they should

Just stop the nonsense. Flood's job isn't saved if we beat a 2-9 Maryland. Have some pride & root for your alma mater.
You must be new around here. What was South Florida's record in 2013? Make a one game adjustment for a much tougher schedule and - well you are in the exact same position.

Weather.com has dropped the chances of rain from 60 percent as of last night to 20 percent now so I am holding out hope that we won't have to bust out the hay. Front of the Blue Lot always turns into a lake.

NWS has also dropped chance of showers to 30%. Front looks to be coming in earlier so if it does shower and note the GFS does not have any qpf, it could be in the morning keeping the game dry. Still have to watch because these situations change but the trend is promising from the gloomy forecast earlier in the week. It will be chilly and not mild, not sure why RU#s has that in the headline

A COLD FRONT WILL CROSS THE REGION ON SATURDAY. NOT A TON OF
MOISTURE WITH THE FRONT BUT THERE LOOKS TO BE ENOUGH FOR SOME
SHOWERS TO OCCUR. PRECIPITATIONS LOOKS TO BE FAIRLY LIGHT AND IF THE
GFS HAS A SAY, WE WON`T SEE MUCH PRECIPITATION, IF ANY, AT ALL. WITH
THE EARLIER ARRIVAL OF THE FRONT, THE COLD AIR WILL FILTER IN
THROUGH THE DAYTIME LEADING TO COOLER TEMPS AS THE DAY GOES ON. MAX
TEMPS ACROSS THE NORTHERN AREAS WILL LIKELY OCCUR EARLIER IN THE DAY
AS A RESULT. OVERNIGHT LOWS WILL BE MUCH COLDER THAN THE PREVIOUS
NIGHT WITH LOWS DROPPING INTO THE UPPER 20S TO UPPER 30S ACROSS THE
REGION.

Things are looking up, at least a bit. Latest model runs are indicating that the passing cold front on Saturday is likely to be accompanied by only a few light showers, with the possibility that we'll only see a few sprinkles. Rainfall totals for the tailgates through the game are very likely to be <0.05", which is in the nuisance range. The game, in particular, could even see some sunshine. Temps will be on the mild side for late November, with morning temps in the low/mid 40s and highs in the low 50s (normal for high/low for 11/28 is 51/32F). The gusty winds were also dropped from earlier forecasts; winds are now forecast to be in the 10 mph range. We're still 3 days out, so the precip forecast can still change, especially with regard to intensity, but right now I see no reason to not go based on the weather.

BY SATURDAY MORNING, A COLD FRONT IS FORECAST TO BE CROSSING OUR
AREA. MOISTURE LOOKS TO BE FAIRLY LIMITED WITH THIS BOUNDARY, BUT WE
HAVE KEPT SOME LOW CHANCE POPS FOR SHOWERS AS THE FRONT PASSES FROM
NORTHWEST TO SOUTHEAST THROUGH THE FORECAST AREA.

No significant change in the forecast. A few light nuisance showers, with total precip <0.05". Tailgates might not see any rain at all (the Euro model forecast is totally dry until late afternoon) and only a few light showers/sprinkles for the game. Temps in the upper 40s for the tailgates and low 50s for the game; wind forecast now down to 5-10 mph. Seriously, no weather reason to not attend this game. I'm not even bringing rain gear.

The progression of the cold front has slowed down some. Tailgates should remain dry and just a light shower or two possible for the game (0.01-0.02"of rain). The slower front means high temps will make it into the upper 50s and winds will be light at 5-10 mph. Not a bad day.

A nearly flawless forecast. Tailgates were dry and quite pleasant with an even warmer high than forecast - 61F. And the game was fine too, with only 0.02" of rain falling in some sprinkles and occasional light rain, which is nuisance level rain. I had to chuckle at people in ponchos. I haven't read the board, but if there is anyone whining about the "rain" the only explanation can be PMS. If there are, they're probably the same morons who booed Laviano after getting hurt and despite playing a very good game.

A great season, weather-wise. An effing crappy season, football-wise. How the hell do you lose a game scoring 41 points, especially after being up 31-10? Great game by the offense and a horrific game by the defense, just horrific. MD payback for last year, I guess. Hopefully, Flood is canned tomorrow and we can start rebuilding.

Soaking rain hardly constitutes chance of showers. Bad job weather guys. Much earlier as well.

You can't be serious. You call 0.02" of rain a "soaking rain?" And it wasn't "earlier" than any forecast I saw or posted. NWS and I both were saying no rain for the tailgates, which was accurate and nuisance level rains for the game, which was also accurate. I guess you're the first PMS sufferer to post in this thread, lol. Do people realize that 0.02" of rain is the equivalent of about 1/4" of snow? I'm dumbfounded that anyone would anyone be bothered by 1/4" of snow in liquid form.

Dude... Soaked... Much more rain then led to believe and started much earlier than forecast. Was it a down pour? No... But helluva lot more than a chance of showers.

Hardly flawless...that was more than nuisance rain thats for sure..got more rain than expected

So, you're saying the link I posted showing 0.02" of rain in NB between 11 am and 4 pm is wrong? Or that there was some incredible gradient in rainfall between NB and P-way and P-way got a lot more, despite the fact that I had 0.025" of rain in my rain gauge at home in Metuchen (which included ~20 min of light rain after the game was over)?

Or do people seriously not understand what 0.02" of rain is? I can't figure it out. NWS predicted 0.01-0.02" of rain through about 4 pm and we got 0.02" of rain. If that's not a perfect forecast I don't know what is. Unfortunately, our fanbase is full of weather pussies - sorry, but it had to be said. In my short sleeved RU jersey I barely even noticed it raining. Whatever - the forecast was flawless, though.

WTF Tshirt? Oh... I forgot who this is. The man who likes to walk in a driving blizzard looking for a bar thats still open at 1 in the morning with 2 feet of snow on the ground. :)

RU#'s -- You keep killing it. Thanks for the early warning. We were in boss' suite but 1/2 the group get
real wet heading to cars. I sent all of them an e-mail on Tuesday saying to prepare for a light but steady
(my words) based on RU#'s aka Wall Street's weatherman raising the possibility. Packed extra
rainwear for wife and I in car yesterday; also went through 8 golf umbrellas for others but I sense they
were of little use based on pushing reservations for dinner getting pushed back from 7:30 to 9:00.

Unrelated:

1> Heard talk from inside and outside our group that President Barachi (sp?) might be announcing his
retirement to go to some neuro-focused private-equity or research foundation. His work is done the thought goes--
the mergers are complete, and he might want to leave a clean canvas for his replacement. I give this
25% credibility as he is not a young late 60's guy having met him a few times.

2> Tulane, and another school on that level with big $$,, are interested in Coach Flood. I give this 50%
probability.

3> RU#'s--start your own site with weekly weather (as you see fit to post) and either through subscriptions
and/or traffic for advertising, youd be surprised how much you'd make to compensate for all of your
time. Thanks again for today's suggestion to be prepared.

Good night.
