- he can really hurt teams on passing plays with his feet. Several times against Minnesota, the middle of the field was wide open and he took advantage

- I thought his ball placement was generally good, facilitating YAC. At least one of his throws was term by a Big Ten Network analyst to be an "NFL throw"

- he kept his eyes downfield while under duress and had enough arm to deliver the ball to the receiver

- if he can get his timing down with Patton, Patton is going to breakout. I felt like Patton has consistently beaten his coverage but the ball just wasn't being delivered.

I'm hoping that this season is a tale of two seasons:

- before the bye week
- after the bye week

I feel good that Gio will give us a punchers chance in each game

Much too conservative here. Who are you and what have you done with the real RutgersAl? [laughing]

Gio helps us in every phase of the game.
He flips the field to help take pressure off the punter, he keeps the defense off the field, he scores points.
He extends the play and makes the OL much better in pass protection, he throws the ball well enough that our recievers suddenly appear open, he forces the defense to deal with his legs and arm so it helps the backs.

Amazing how a QB makes everyone better.

QB is like a pitcher. He has the ball the most so he better know what to do with it.

Gio is our Chapman. He's got a chance to be the great reliever if he can go 4-0.

A relief pitcher (closer) is not a very good analogy for a starting QB- just saying. Everything else I agree with!

hopefully his hammy is healed enough to play saturday..

I always root for the guy on the field so take what I say for what it is worth. But I do think Gio is a much better fit for this Offense. Just being a threat to run opened up the passing game, it is really that simple. He looked in control and made the throws. He still has work to do for sure with decision making and ball security. That is what you get when you play an inexperienced QB but the time was right to make the switch. Defensive minded coaches hate turnovers as we have seen with our last 3 coaches. If he gets that cleaned up and is able to use his legs like he did early vs Minn we have a shot in all 4 games down the stretch.

I am excited to see what Gio brings these next 4 games. I think PSU is the only really tough Defense we play. I think we can move the ball on the other 3 teams and hopefully not shoot ourselves in the foot with TO's like we have done the last 2 games.

I am excited to see what he can do over the course of a few games, but please don't get too carried away. A lot of bench guys (whether they belonged there or not) come in and look good for a week or two, then people catch on to them and figure out how to deal with them.

Brock Osweiler springs to mind.

But at least I can go into a weekend looking forward to seeing what our QB can do instead of dreading how he will perform.

"We're much improved with Gio" has to be the understatement of the year. And to think it comes from Al who has never underwhelmed us in his posts about RU.
I mean the only thing Gio did was go out and lead RU to 32 points against the 5th rated B1G defense, that gives up on average only 22. The difference between the Minny performance and anything we've seen from our last QB is night and day. Thank goodness Ash saw the light.

Wow was that really necessary?

Gio is a beast. He runs and passes with confidence. It's amazing how good this offense comes together with a legit dual threat guy at the helm.

I'm no longer worried about our offensive future. Defense and special teams is another story.

SCR: lighten up man it was a joke

Has anyone heard how he's been doing in practice? Hopefully getting tons of snaps at practice will help in gaining more confidence.
