Let's win it first. But for today we did beat the #1 team in the country at their place.Way to represent.

I watched the game on the Virginia Athletic site. It was one great finish taking 9 rounds of kicks after 2 overtimes. We trailed 2-0 in kicks after the first 2 rounds. Murphy made a save in round 3 so we trailed 2-1. In round 4 each team scored so we trailed 3-2. In round 5 we scored and the Virginia girl hit the top of the post so it was 3-3. Both teams scored in rounds 6, 7 & 8 to make the score 6-6. In round 9 we scored and Murphy guessed correctly saving the ball to her right for the win.
I hope we can win this Final Four. I still remember I think in the early 90's when our men lost on a shootout to UCLA in the national championship game. After 2 overtimes I believe the game was still tied at 0-0 I believe. We lost in the shootout. I believe a few years later the NCAA changed the rules that we would have been co champions with UCLA if the new rules were in existence at the time of our game.

Man anything can happen but damn most felt a Final 4 in Murphy's jr or sr year do this is already a HUGE "plus" on my books. Next 2 classes are already loaded, as well, do this WILL only help!

This was the first result I looked for when coming back to my computer after an afternoon away. Fantastic news - and yet another shutout to add to the record total. That's an RU record total for shutouts and extends our lead as the nation's #1 defense as measured by goals allowed. I wonder what the all-time national record for shutouts might be in NCAA women's soccer.
