Current head coach at Wyoming. All time record 109-47. Has a defensive background as a DC.
I doubt he would leave Wyoming for RU. But it's worth a shot.

He played for Nebraska and coached there. he coached at Wisconsin. Has won 3 NCAA FCS championships at NSDU (2011, 2012 and 2013). He beat Kansas St with NDSU in 2013 while they were defending Big 12 champs. I think he's worth a look.

Very good coach but way way way down the list. One thing to keep in mind with the most successful 1AA programs is that they don't really recruit. They stock their teams with 1A transfers and JUCO's who didn't get P5 offers. Not saying he can't recruit but with no ties east of Lincoln it makes zero sense.

Add to that the fact that Wyoming isn't having what can be described as a stellar season.

But his record at ND State is impressive. Was he their coach when they went to the dome in Minneapolis with half the population of North Dakota and defeated the Golden Gophers a few years back?

This is what bugs me about this stuff. I'm all for actual discussion about viable candidates that people think would make a good head coach. Then there are these types of threads where a guy throws a dart at a map and says "Maybe this guy could be a good coach at Rutgers." Like the Coastal Carolina guy. Or this guy. Just replacing Kyle Flood with a warm body is not the answer. Is this guy a good coach? Probably. He did pretty well at NDSU. Does the guy have any recruiting ties to the areas that we recruit? Doesn't seem like it. Would any recruits actually know who the guy is if you said his name (does he have that all important "stain")? Doesn't seem like it. Has he shown that he's anything more than a good coach for a school out in the middle of nowhere? No.

If you're going to replace Kyle Flood, which I'm not opposed to, you need to hire a top name (that could include a top assistant at a Top 10 school, like a Venables, or Herman, who is now a head coach doing great). Otherwise you're just paying money for more than likely no tangible improvement over what we have now.

Some posters just want to hear themselves talk, it seems.
