What are the odds that the 2020 RU football season starts on time ?

And Jim from RU... don’t forget after you wash those hands... dry those tears it looks terrible on a grown man

If the alternative is this for 18 months and possibly longer? Yes.
Even though we could've done what SK/Taiwan did and failed to do so? And still possibly could if we pull out all the stops now, although it's almost too late. Even buying a few months might buy enough time to have some medical treatments that we know will work, especially for the elderly and vulnerable, so that's why I wish we would just bite the bullet and shut just about everything down. A week ago, but now even would be ok.

What we've already failed to do isn't relevant.

Given the choice between
(a) Wuhan-level complete shutdown for a 2 months, followed by back to normal
(b) What we have now, for 18-24 months
(c) Let what happens happen

I'd take (a) > (c) > (b)

see my latest post in the pinned thread - I think we'll have close to (a) followed by a much less constrained system (with some cycles likely) until we have a treatment that works (hopefully in <6 months) or a vaccine (thinking 12 months). But we're all guessing bit...

Doesn't matter if it's not up to us. If the experts still say it's dangerous for large groups to gather, the politicos will not allow sporting events. And if the vaccine isn't in place by mid summer, I'd expect the NCAA to postpone or shorten the season.
Vaccine by midsummer?? Try a Year and a half to two years.

Number I had Put you on ignore. Go out and make some ventilators or masks or deliver food to those in need and stfu. You’re do nothing to help here and blaming one person for a global pandemic. We should turn CNN into a Hospital and make all of those whiny liberals take care of patients too.

Here's a question.. with gyms closed.. is there something Rutgers is allowed to do to provide training equipment to its athletes while at home? We can probably encourage running and calisthenics.. but weight-training and other resistance-based training.. ???

I’m cautiously optimistic this will end by Memorial Day. That being said, we could have a football season. My concern however is if no vaccine is developed and this virus comes back in the fall or winter then we re back to square zero again.

crazy to say this but we might be living through the worst thing to happen in the US since...what? The Civil War?
Don’t tell that to SoCal liberals. The traffic jam right now in Malibu is worse than the 4th of July lol.

I’m not sure but this seems worse than the last two WW3’s Trump caused.

you are a total asshole, with this epidenic we should be uniting and not throwing bombs a tour own people. if you want to throw bombs throw them at china

Fake News.
Lying Donnie is all over it.

Fake news - it’s his his words ... but nice try though.

We can all settle this thread really easy, once and for all. The dope has his presser again today at 4:30. If he doesn’t say something monumentally stupid, deceitful, false or anything that Fauci and/or FEMA doesn’t come out and immediately correct for its stupidity, I will back off - care to take the bet? You won’t because you know truth ... he will! Hahahahahahahaha!!!!!

Back to the actual subject of this post and away from the politics.

"NEW York Governor Andrew Cuomo has warned that 80% of New York state's population could become infected with the coronavirus and said the crisis could last as long as nine months.

Cuomo’s stark assessment came hours after Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin warned that the lockdown, currently impacting 80 million people across the country, could last 12 weeks."

Sept 5 seems like a long way away from March, but the longer this stretches on I defy anyone to say that it may not affect college football in the fall. And please, hold off on you comments about people shouldn't be worried about college football but rather bigger things, that might be true, but this is a college football board and people are here to talk college football.

Anything has to be better than what ESPN has on right now. No lie, I'm watching pit spitting. You can't make this sh*t up.

Reading a lot about scientists predicting 6 or more months ...
