What's the deal with our RB commits?

This offense is an RB's dream. While I think one of them sticks, if both leave I wouldn't be surprised to see a new RB like Darrington come into the fold late. The scheme will sell itself.

The cupboard became bare because Kyle Flood didn't even attempt to put forth the effort required to recruit these top tier kids, and the kids and their parents knew it.

You can't blame the kids for not wanting to play for that buffoon.
You think the problem was that Kyle Flood was lazy.

We're the worst athletic department in the Big Ten from top to bottom, and that's a problem that predates Flood. And it starts with the state of New Jersey, not a guy from Queens.

If one leaves I hope we go after him. We need as many weapons as possible.

Well one just left and it sounds like he's not considering us any more. About to commit to UW. I thought Lovett would be the one to stick. Hope I'm right. Either way, time to put the full court press on Darrington?

I'm just glad the drama with him is finally over. Been stringing us along for months now.

Yeah and it always sounded like he was iffy. Would've been a good get but I don't think this will become a big deal. Don't think it will be like a few years ago. Think the majority of the class is solid. Very few spots left. Just waiting on a couple studs who are taking their time with their decisions. Staff definitely has backup plans if they don't work out. We don't need at least one RB in this class though. 2 would be great, with Hicks and Martin leaving the same year.

Agree with you, sounds like the kid was a playmaker but he was as good as good since the spring. Let's get Darrington and hopefully keep Lovett and make the best of the situation.

dont understand who in this class is wavering besides taylor, whose interest in wisconsin has been well known since they offered in april or may, and lovett, who has a girlfriend currently attending psu telling him to go there probably every hour...or more. these are isolated situations and in general, not many of our recruits are expecting our current roster to win a lot of games.
i hope i'm wrong, but it's early

It's like you're rooting for decommits

Is Micah leaving? No he's enrolling early.

Is Bo leaving? No he's a legacy and he wants to start next to his cousin ahmir Mitchell

Is ahmir leaving? No he's enrolled.

Is Lewis leaving? He's one of our biggest public supporters.

Is fogg leaving? Based on interviews he seems extremely sold on the idea he may start for 4 years here.

Is Washington leaving? He's also enrolled and probably our starting tight end next year. God forbid we start a tight end who can block a cornerback, let alone a linebacker.

That's our core and that's the glue that keeps this class together. Being so pessimistic like you helps absolutely nobody. What is so special about this staff's recruiting isn't that they put together a solidly rated class..flood did that but then lost about 12 decommits. What's special is that they put together a solidly rated class that has some legit bonds to each other and they recruit themselves. And that is why guys like bell, hand, and others are still visiting and making officials.

It's just sad to read over and over again daily from the same posters. If there's one position we can get away with, it's RB. RB will not make or break us and the sooner you guys understand this, the better.

The offense and scheme is only as good as the offensive lineman blocking in it...maybe these RBs are worried that they won't have the time or space to run with a porous OLine?

both players are eyeing more successful programs.. they will see plenty of Rutgers from an opposite sideline (esp any recruit that stays in the Big East). You guys are in the same boat as MD.. good recr area but historically bad teams. As of right now MD looks far better optically. Not sure if Ash or Durkin can even coach yet alone pull a struggling program from the ashes in one of the 2 toughest divisions in football. RU has gotten destroyed several times, and Durkin (a DEF guy) has an offense that puts his QB at risk 20-30 times per game.

RU has far better gameday than MD.. that's for sure. It's almost like dating a girl in your HS.. it would be great to date a hot girl from you HS, but a hot girl from a mysterious HS across town looks even better. Getting a PSU/tOSU/UM offer is tough.. they have the biggest camp systems, tv ratings, stadiums.... hell Barry Alvarez is a GREAT coach and football guy, he will tell you will never beat PSU/tOSU/UM trying to be just like them.. as they are blue bloods and always will be. You need to find an identinty (Baylor on offense) Boise (ingenuity) Michigan State (take kids right off the police blotters that are too dirty to get into UM). Not sure what will work for you guys.-sg

Cool story bro..answer is pretty simple. Get the NJ kids. Not all of them..just a lot of them. Our new coaches are doing it. Our old coaches didn't. Thank you come again.

can the coach stay around long enough to accumulate them.. prob 3 seasons of humiliations in the wings.. that is the never-ending dilemma on the banks..

You just saw that the offense gets supremely more serviceable when a running qb is manning it..we played tight with Minnesota. Well next year we will have 3 new starting wr and a new te. Hell We may even have another qb depending on how the spring and summer go. We will improve and ash has at least 4 years here to craft the team he wants to. Early indications in recruiting show this class is going to be pretty solid in his first year and he can build on that.
