Likes per post is a useless stat, since likes didn't exist until the site was upgraded ~20 months ago, but post counts weren't reset to zero at that time. Likes per posts, since the upgrade, would be useful if one really wanted to compare apples to apples. The other stat that would be interesting to know is likes given out, as that could certainly influence likes received. Alas, we're left with bad data. If I could, I would give this thread 3 stars - where's Daniel Perry when you need him...

good suggestion on the thread title - couldnt change it so created a new one - maybe mods will combine - anyway, as to my secret for like count - there really is none other than try to be as positive and optimistic and sometimes funny as you can be no matter what - you will be surprised how much of a rare quality that can be on this board lol
yeah, now I feel like one of those kids trying to collect a 1000 Christmas cards for the Holiday. I've gone and ruined the hard earned value of my likes by mixing in a bunch of well intentioned but certainly un-earned credits. :(

Go to the main thread listing screen and look at your account about 3oclock. They are listed there with the "other" tallies... you have some you don't even know about most "likely"
The thread title editing tool still appears on any threads I've started - it's the tiny little wrench icon at the top of any thread one has started - click on dropdown triangle and there's an option for "edit title." The rest is easy. I pray someone likes this post...
I know you're just busting chops (which I enjoy), but if you're curious, I actually had about 26,000 posts when the site was upgraded (vs. 29,640 now; I had saved a weather thread from Jan-2015, which is right around when the upgrade happened), so my likes to posts ratio is really 1680 to about 3640, which is a respectable 0.46 vs. an apparently anemic 0.06 if counting all my posts. I post less than I used to and I assume I argue too much to get a really high ratio - I guess I enjoy arguing more than likes...
I have the best likes. My likes are huge. I've spoken to a lot of people - good people, from all over - and they all want to like my posts, I'm tellin' you, there's nobody who... I mean, it's easy to like posts, but the people who don't like my posts, they're losers. And they're fat.
it was great.. this poster cracked rivals and installed a bot that was giving out hundreds of thousands of likes and he let it run for days and the soundoff rivals guys couldn't figure it out ... he eventually came clean and shut it off so they didn't ban him... they just said.. don't.do.it.again.ever.
I'd have 5000 more likes if most of my posts actually had anything in it people would like
After 17 or 18 yrs on this board and closing in on 10,000 posts still cannot fathom how someone can get to 80,000 plus posts. Do I really have that little to say
I keep the big ones for fun, mostly - they can be interesting to look back through (and entertaining), plus, once in awhile they're useful for tidbits of info, like this, and for remembering what was posted (especially interesting data/analysis). I hated that the old site had no storage capacity, although even when one has that, it's no guarantee - I remember when the previous two versions of American Weather went belly up and years of threads were lost forever.
