We are already competitive after losing game by 30,40,even 60 points in the last few seasons. Even though we have yet to win a B1G game, you can clearly see the improvement. Being competitive in a road game against Iowa, which i feel we should have won, is a positive sign.

If Coach can recruit, we will be a force to be reckoned with very soon.

End of the half was not a good omen. Getting no open looks. But...agree with the sentiments wholeheartedly. Recruits need to look beyond the wins and losses this year. We have competed in all but a few games.

44-37...I would be surprised if Rutgers can win
I agree we are not going to pull this one out but the fact that we are this competitive against upper echelon B1G teams is very nice to see especially when we are playing with far less talent than other teams. Watching games used to be a chore- not anymore.

Loser mentality IMO. Even EJ won a few conf games when he had a heathy roster. getting outplayed in the 2nd half is all coaching.

Jordan players are not good, lets just leave it at that....one legit starter and maybe 1 player who would see minutes elsewhere...a total whiff at the center spot with those 2 guys and other contributing little

we agree....it is indeed about talent
Gettys at 4pts & 6 REBs is...as you say.."a total whiff"
if it werent for Freeman 12pts/15REBs & Sanders 18pt/4 assts we would be in BIGGER trouble

Thiam, .....0-0
Doorson....0-2
Laurent.....1-2
SA..............1-1
Williams ...2-8(plus 1 ft)
Johnson ..2-14
.................6 - 27

6 players 13 points

If coach P can recruit ONE player that can put 13pts in the bucket we would be in better shape

I say coach P finds 3 of his own guys.....and we will finally kick some tail!

Sanders and Freeman are EJ's recruits. Getty is a Pike recruit. Having talent always make the coaches look better. Let's see what he can bring in.

We need to start getting some studs. If we keep getting 2 star players and projects, Coach K isn't turning this around.

Defense and effort yes...talent needs total upgrade and three shooters at least. We can be happy we know Pike can coach but recruiting vis going to be a bear
The ultimate success or failure of Pikiell will be dependent on recruiting.Losing doesn't enhance likelihood of getting top tier recruits because they have so many other choices .Can't win if you can't score is now matched by can't successfully recruit if you can't win.Its a vicious cycle,a abyss that Rutgers mens basketball seems incapable of overcoming other than changing coaching staffs every 3-5 years.
