With an open schollie for Etou I wonder what we should focus on to fill it?
Getting a hs kid this late in the game is probably not ideal. We could look for a kid from a top school with NJ / NY roots that is looking to transfer. We could look at a Juco kid. or we could focus on the 2016 class.
Ideally I am thinking bringing in a couple of kids who are graduating but have 1 year of eligibility left (like Flood has done in football). This way we have some talented kids as a stop gap which also allows us to properly fill the scholarships in 2016.
Not knowing who these players are but knowing these schools have coaching changes maybe these kids are looking to leave:
Tennessee - Kevin Punter 6 4 180 lbs Jr from the Bronx
Texas - no east coast players but you never know
St Johns - no NJ kids but some of the NY kids may want to leave
Syracuse - has a Union NJ kid and some NYC / LI kids that may want out because of the sanctions
I am sure there are red shirt juniors that are graduating with immediate eligibility that I am not aware of.
