Swish Appeal reporting that Essence Carson was waived from the Mystics. My recollection is that after the first two or three games, she shot really poorly.

MYSTICS SIGN ALECIA “SUG” SUTTON, WAIVE ESSENCE CARSON

August 16, 2020

"The Washington Mystics announced today that they have signed guard Alecia “Sug” Sutton. Washington originally selected Sutton with the 36th overall pick in the 2020 WNBA Draft from the University of Texas before waiving her on May 25.

Sutton (5-8), averaged a career 8.3 points, 3.4 rebounds and 3.2 assists in 131 career games (65 starts) for the Longhorns. In her senior season, she averaged 9.9 points and a team-high 4.1 assists per game, which ranked fourth in the Big 12. Sutton was a two-time Nancy Lieberman Award Top-10 Finalist (2019, 2020) and was named to the 2020 All-Big 12 Second Team. The St. Louis, MO native was also named to the 2020 Academic All-Big 12 First Team and finished her career at Texas tied for ninth in program history in career assists with 419.

In a related move, Washington waived guard Essence Carson. Carson appeared in 10 games for the Mystics this season, averaging 4.3 points and 1.8 rebounds in 16.8 minutes per game."

Kia will be the next of the "old guard" RU players to be waived.

Essence Carson picked up by Conn.Sun.
And Essence played briefly, even scoring.
Prince also played and if box score is correct, was high scorer of 16 pts in 17 minutes as a sub in the Seattle stomping of the NY Liberty.
Copper played well for the Sky upset of the Aces, too.
So the RU grads were doing ok.
We can see if Laney can keep up today in Dream matchup vs the Mystics.
And if Vaughn will get off the bench vs the Sparks. (She did pretty well the other day as Griner had problems. )
Wish Wheeler was back....

Go RU!

Don't want to forget Kahleah's stats from the night before in Chicago's win over the dreaded Laimbeer and his crew.

I have not read anything about an All-Star game, so I guess that is not happening this season. I think Betnijah is at the top of the list for Most-Improved Player. There was an ESPN article recently.

Looks like Piph has returned after her personal business departure. She also had a good game.
