Renee Montgomery is a WNBA guard for the Atlanta Dream, and she recently opted out of playing in the 2020 WNBA season to focus on her fight for racial justice and equality.

Since most don't follow the WNBA on here, I'll add this. The average salary for WNBA players is a very small fraction of the salary made by NBA players. They just got an increase this past January. The average salary is now around 130K, and max around 500K. Most of the really, good players have always made much better $$ overseas in places like Russia, Turkey, and China. So Cappie, Piph and others have made most over there.
Since the start of the season was to begin in May, and still may or may not begin at all, Renee isn't losing a whole lot.
