I recently received an email, wrestling tickets will count towards priority points.
Yes, many of you will grumble but really this was a no brainer to happen sometime soon. Tickets cost roughly $100 each.
I love to see people supporting various Rutgers sports.

It makes a lot of sense. I would even say that they should give PP's when buying season tix for any RU sport. The more sports people support the better it is for RU, maybe even helping reduce subsidies if it even generates a small bump in Tix sales. Maybe those that go to a few lacrosse games or soccer games, etc per year will decide to buy season tix instead...and when they can't attend, give the tix to a neighbor / kids.

This really hurts those of us who don't live close the the campus. I work in the city and live over 50 miles away. No way can I possible make any of these matches. Maybe they should give PP for each mile drive to the game, that would even things out.

75% of wrestling matches are on weekends. So you might miss one or two if you can't make a Friday night match.

This same argument could be made with regard to season tickets to football and basketball.
(I live about 90 miles from campus and although I have cheap wrestling and affordable football season tickets, the distance + when the games are played prevents me from having basketball season tickets.)

I agree, but only for sports where season tickets cost close to or more than $100. If season tickets to Lax are $20 each, some of us would buy them strictly for the priority points and mostly just eat the tickets.
I think most sports are either free or almost free to attend.

How does this hurt you?

Because people are gets PP for having wrestling tickets and I am not so I get bumped to a lesser lot because of it.
You do realize people still have to actually purchase the tickets with money right. If your so bummed then donate $100 to the Rfund site and you'll be on equal footing. Why should people be punished when they buy wrestling season tickets, when basketball season tickets get PP's . Hell basketball season ticket holders should probably get double the points with the hell they've been put through for the last few decades.

I don't think basketball should count either.

There are roughly 1000 season ticket holders for wrestling. If I am not mistaken the ultimate goal is around 1500 for this season.

This should assist with that number.

This makes sense on many levels. Forst the season ticket cost is 105 dollars which is essentially one point any way. Where wrestling ticket holders will get additional benefit will be consecutive years of purchase which is a loyalty bonus for supporting the program by purchasing season tickets year after year.

Maybe things are changing for this upcoming season, but that couldn't be further from the truth in regards to 2015-16 season

So? They shouldn't get PP just because you can't also get them? There should be PP from season tickets in all sports. If you're worried about losing your parking spot then donate a bit more.

Literally the equivalent of saying that other people get more PP and a better lot because they donate more money throughout the year.
