Andy Malekoff dead

Another guy I've never heard of.
It is hard for me to fully comprehend the absolute stupidity of this post. This wasn't some random public figure, Andy was a Rutgers football captain and multi-sport athlete who I'm sure was even more proud of his career after Rutgers. e5fdny has it right, Andy was a real Rutgers man we can all be proud of. Click on the links above so you can hear of him.

Gavin Wimsatt Commits to Kentucky!!

I'd say most QBs throw it on the ground or tuck and run in that situation.
some parts of the problem may also be direction from the coaches...did the kid feel like he HAD to throw it there no matter what?

I remember the Nova Days- we all wondered why he seemed so football dumb by crossing the LOS and throwing it or spiking a 4th down, etc...found out that he was told that under no circumstance was he ever to cross the LOS with the ball in his hand. I think it was fear of injury. But his final year- you saw him tuck and run when needed and he was pretty good and he no longer made that low IQ plays.

But the GW play and the other pick 6 screen at the goal line- were scripted and I would bet he was told no other option...and both were just horrible play calls

As NJ college basketball stars Kadary Richmond, Cliff Omoruyi transfer out, fans speak up

It's a weird dynamic as the fan comments represented in the article are regarding lamenting that players they follow will no longer stay 4 years and graduate - example given was Geo. Rutgers has 6 Transfers out this year yet the focus of the article (RU focus - excluding SHU & Richmond) was primarily on Cliff. Since Cliff actually stayed 4 years and graduated it did not seem to fit the narrative. Hence my interpretation is that its not mainly about following a player for 4 years. What fans mostly seem to care about is players leaving who have (or will continue to) produce for the team on the court and increase the chances of winning. They do not seem to have as much of a problem replacing guys who did not produce or welcoming transfers who might help us win - even if only for one year.

OT: Kadary Richmond does end up at St. John's

I think that fans aren't overly concerned about player movement, but in every other sport (outside of Soccer, which I don't follow) there are 3 things.

A) Players draft that allows struggling teams the chance to get the best young player.

B) Some sort of salary cap that's managed and penalties are enforced if teams exceed that cap.

C) Can you replace the departing player with a similar talent??

I don't think SHU would care if they lost Richmond to St Johns....it comes down to their inability to replace that tasted piece with just one player, it may take 2 or 3 players to do so.

In case you haven’t noticed, we’re not very competitive in the portal. And I’m quite certain we aren’t going to land 2 of the top 3 HS recruits every year. In fact, I’d wager that we’ll never do that again.

So where does that leave us? It leaves RU as a mediocrity at best and players that fans have no emotional connection with. That’s a recipe for disaster. And it’s happening all over college basketball right now.

In case you hadn't noticed, we were not even at the level of mediocrity for 3 decades prior to Pike. Now that we have our act together, you are talking about quitting based on some unknown equation of yet to be determined recruits and transfers that are not even in scope yet. LOL.

Change can be difficult and scary to some. Like it or not, the new rules are what we have. Great thing though is that if you don't like the new rules - you're free to take your ball and go home at any time and the world with Rutgers sports will keep going.

This from a guy who posts constantly on the Hall board and never has a negative word about them-- a real apologist for them
