I am a huge Cliff fan, knowing his limitations and knowing that he bleeds scarlet. I really hope that his final decision is to stay and be a part of a special season. My main concern is the timing of his decision. I am sure it is not an easy one, especially with so many people with agendas in his ear. But our ability to rein in a big man is at stake. What senior or grad transfer is going to consider us if there is a chance that Cliff returns. The portal is about to open. Everyone is going after the big fish first. Not knowing his intentions, or at least his inclinations, will put us in a competitive disadvantage. From last year, I think it can be assumed that he knows the unlikelihood of the NBA, or even the G league, after a subpar year. Putting the onus on a freshman is likely a big mistake.
