I think there was only like 4 NJ AA this year.. seems like less and less every year.. and half the elite NJ guys goes to Ivy so we def need recruit nationally, especially from PA.

Spot on. Been saying this exactly. And while it is nice to get the local guys. But once an athlete puts on the red singlet, I don’t care where he’s from. He’s our guy.

Yeah it’s a shame and really it’s only football in between Schiano stints to blame. Years of everyone locally mocking Rutgers football which gave the whole athletic department a bad image even though most other sports are competitive at the highest level.

in the tri state area Rutgers is looked at as a fall back option. So many Long Island kids basically think Rutgers is Hofstra. Yet I go to different parts of the country and they think Rutgers is Ivy like. Perception is reality

5, 6 if you count TJ Stewart who spent 4 years living at Blair and that’s with 2 returning AAs out injured (Van Ness and Ventresca) , 2 past AAs losing in the R12 (Poz and Foca) past AA Composto having a terrible tournament and with arguably the best freshman prospects in RS( Mullen and Ruiz ) ruiz lost to welsh in OT and beat ncaa semi finalist Lenny Wolak this season and with guys like Peretin , Chapman, Lundington and Knox arriving in 2 years …I think this year was just an anomaly
