Basketball GAME THREAD: Rutgers vs. Minnesota on Thursday night

People are too tough on Hyatt here . He was looking for cam as he was coached to do. Couldn’t get it to cam so passed to mulcahy. Mulcahy blew this game. The bone head passes, bad shots ok. But too lazy to box out in crunch time …that was the loss

Dumb. Then dumb. Then double dumb.

Why didn't Hyatt cross center line then hold and wait for help?
Why didn't we cover the inbounds to make them pick it up, saved them three steps which has to be 1 second plus?
Why didn't Cam stay with his man instead of swiping at Calebs man, then stay in front of his man instead of crossing passed him?

And re Pike: What the f**k with a lineup of Palmquisk, Reiber, McConnell, Simpson and who was it and let Gophers go on a mini-run to keep it close?
And Paul was bad again tonight?

Gotta win vs NW and 1 in the B1G tourney to feel good about dancing now.

The fact that Paul has looked like a shell of himself is the biggest problem. When is enough enough of having someone in late games throw bad passes, not handle the ball properly. Pike has to let Derek play who is an 80 percent ft shooter. And this 2-3 zone nonsense against THE WORSE TEAM IN THE LEAGUE like play man Jesus. Man the f up. What r we doing. Wisconsin we kept doubling a kid with 6 total points. We call an inbound play for Paul who had 4 total points vs my 20 pt scorer with a 92 pt ft percentage. Like what 👏 are 👏 we 👏 doingggggg

Hyatt not taking the ball across half court lead directly to one of Paul’s turnovers though. The other one was just a fluke deflection off his forearm.
Yes, Hyatt made Paul turn it over. Just stop. Paul is the reason we lost. Pike gave him way too many minutes

Yep that failed box out was huge.

Why? Because Cam is the only one we have that can shoot a FT there? He needs to advance the ball past mid court. That has to be his priority in that situation.

BIG ten will review the clock eff up and award RU the victory and give us the OHio state game too.
(pass that pipe back over here}

Hyatt just has to cross half court and wait to get fouled or throw it to cliff

We played shit defense all night. Mulcahy has been a choke artist at the end of games his whole career. And McConnell always blows free throws down the stretch. We played stupid basketball and we deserved to lose. Disgraceful.

Why would
We can’t inbound to Wolf or Cliff or Hyatt or Oskar. They can’t handle the ball. Why Simpson wasn’t on the floor there I can’t say. But Cam was well guarded and the last time Paul got it he turned it over. So Caleb was the best option on the floor. Sucks that he missed a FT but geez. Getting the inbound pass in to our best FT shooter every time is unlikely.
Spencer was open on the final inbounds and Paul just looked away from him or was afraid. Then went to Caleb.

This team just needs to foul and send the other team to the line. Bc for someone reason they can't defend on the last possession of games. I'm dead serious, just foul and take yout chances in overtime or hope they miss a free throw

Worst case scenario RU loses to NW and in B1G tourney to finish 18-14 … guaranteed NIT no matter what.

Chance to do history (3 years on a row). Kiss of death. Loss to the bottom 3 teams in the league (Neb/OSU/Minn).

Never ever thought losing this game was possible.

Maybe team pulls out the miracle on Sunday.
