We wanted to provide you a bit of an update as the seacrh is not expected to last another full week. New Hampshire Ryan Carty is a name that has popped up in these annual coaching searches and we were able to verify with Carty that he was not a candidate in the past. This time around, Carty has has not denied interest on RU's part like he has in the past. He is a late candidate to watch as some of the top tier guys who have been mentioned from our first hot board have not materialized. However, Todd Fitch (La Tech OC) is a guy who appeared on our first hot board and remains a potential candidate. He has ties with Ash and is a proven coordinator who would fit with what Ash is trying to do with the offense. Guys like Noel Mazzonne and Brian Wright have not gained consideration because the fast paced style of play may not suit Rutgers' personnell at this time and that is a definite concern for Ash. Jedd Fisch is still out there, but it appears that it would take more money to land him. He also has previous NFL experience and with the OC jobs drying up, he could probably return to a position there. He remains more of a longshot at this point in time. I also think that Matt Canada is not realistic in terms of Rutgers being able to afford him. Might take a secret pigggy bank to land him.
