liveballtv had it in HD.You couldn't beat the price.

For that matter, why does anybody with internet pay for any sporting event? The radio and TV sports personalities must be aware of these sites, but probably fear some sort of retaliation if they broadcast or print that information.

What I can't understand is how these sites make money?

It because they are illegal. They are not going to broadcast or print about illegal things. Do they have listing of drug dealers in the area? It only a matter of time before they start going after individual users like they have done with file sharing.

Also some of those illegal sites are riddled with viruses. User beware.

Some people think it's stealing, but it's really more like receiving stolen goods. The ones broadcasting are the ones stealing, and given that the fight was offered for free in other markets around the world, why wouldn't I watch it for free if it was available? Are you really that concerned that woman-beating POS Money Mayweather gets every last nickel for running around the ring and hugging Pacquiao?

I bought the fight for a better reason: I didn't feel like dealing with the poor quality, viruses and hassle of those crappy pirate sites. I use them for RU games when I have no other choice, and it was only a half-step above not watching at all. For this fight, I had a choice.

Did you even watch the liveball feed? Was it any good, and by good, I mean not having to constantly refresh and close pop-up ads throughout the entire fight?

Do you walk into stores and take things without paying for them?

This is no different.
There is a huge difference. If you steal from a store, the owner is out whatever money he would have made from the sale. If you steal a PPV, chances are good you weren't going to pay for it anyway.

How can it be stealing if the original item is still in the same place?
It's a PPV service and you didn't pay for it. It's not a hard concept. If you steal a car, go for a joy ride and then return it to it's parking spot, do you think that's okay?

So you are saying that thieves would likely have bought the diamond earrings that they stole if they didn't commit the crime?

Do you also consider it "stealing" if someone used a VPN to access one of many FREE broadcasts from other parts of the world? Apparently it was available on network TV in places like Philippines, Peru, Mexico, France and elsewhere.

I'd call that smart consumerism. At worst, it's the equivalent of buying a cheap knock-off T-shirt at a concert or sports match, instead of paying three times the price for the "officially licensed" version. I guess that's kind of "stealing," too, but WTF really cares.

Why would a broadcaster knowingly help others kill their own livelihood? If everyone stole the feed, no one would make money and there would be no more events. Does the OP not realize that?

Sports Illustrated had a livestream of a watch party in a city hall courtyard somewhere in the Philippines. The audio could be heard most of the time, even when the camera was mostly focused on the audience reactions.

of course one could also ask why somebody with a high speed internet connection who therefore also has access to virtually unlimited free porn, would ever waste their time watching 2 ugly guys fight each other? .

ummmm...

That's not what I'm saying, at all.

Get used to saying the above phrase a lot Mr. "brodo" because you will find this will happen VERY often. Not exactly sure why, but my best guess so far is that people do not read all of the posts that come before a specific quote and then therefore do not fully understand the context of the specific statement.

But other times posters will just straight up put words in your mouth so get used to it and good luck brother.

It's like pirating music. It is stealing, just like watching bootlegs of movies.

Mayweather is a woman beater and ahole, but that doesn't take away from the fact that it is illegal to do what the OP is suggesting.

If you don't want to put money in Mayweather's pocket, I get it. Don't order the fight. But don't watch it and not pay for it.

It is stealing, plain and simple. And I am not buying that people who pirated the fight wouldn't have paid for it. If that is the case, they don't deserve to watch it.

Did the PPV broadcast ever leave its original location?

So I guess all the sanctimonious "you're stealing" folks also buy porn on Blu-ray.

I wonder if all the people in this thread who are calling it stealing had one of those boxes that stole free premium cable channels when they were in college or in their younger days Lol.

Yeah because what else is there to do in life besides watch porn 24/7? I hear that if you watch it enough it becomes almost like you're actually getting some action yourself.

If you sneak into a theater and watch a Broadway musical or a concert, does the performance leave the original location? No.

If you sneak into an unoccupied hotel room and spend the night without paying, does the bed leave the original location? No.

If you marry a pillow to avoid estate taxes, does the .... Oops. Sorry; wrong thread.

You could have offered to pay me $99 to watch the fight and I would've said no. Better things to do.
