OT: Prime Time: CU Buffs spring game only one in the country on ESPN

Makes sense
Sanders and Colorado are crushing transfer portal, social media, ticket sales and more.
Be smarter to put Bama on?
What a yawn that would be.
Thankfully Sanders and Colorado have a chance to put cracks in SEC recruiting locks

SOLD OUT

"From 1-11 to a sold-out spring game.

That's what Deion Sanders has done for Colorado Buffaloes football.

The Buffs' "Black & Gold" game will be the only spring game broadcast nationally on ESPN and will have an attendance of over 45,000 (last year 1,950)

It will be the most-attended spring game in CU history. The previous record was just under 18,000 in 2008. The attendance of this year's spring game will also be greater than the last nine combined — when tickets were free."

1 win last year. They will be great compared to that

Sanders has taken that uni over.
Some football coaches are iconic but Sanders is a force of nature.
Every day he's posting videos, instagrams etc.
The other day he made a video celebrating the ground crew
He's extremely philosophical and direct and religious
He says things other coaches at other schools couldn't get away with - he's confident and fearless

He said he liked his QBs to be smarter than average and from stable 2 parent homes.
He wants character and no nonsense - not emotional.
Conversely he likes defenders from single mother homes that the player wants to save with a successful career.
Defensive players can play angry and QBs need to be cool

Assuming we could get someone of that caliber, and have the powers that be sign off on that, it would be interesting to see what someone like Prime could do here

Increased visibility, hugely successful, larger than life personality, stain in the recruiting world, etc

But according to some here (most?), Deion is no good. He’s a gimmick who talks too much and spends too much time on social media. Was disrespectful to the game and who only attracts 5 stars because he’s a HOFer.

Everything that Schiano isn’t and only Schiano knows what Rutgers needs.

Yesterday he had team sing Happy Birthday to the AD and AD loved it

If Colorado goes 12-0 and to the playoff this year he will be hailed a legend. If they go 2-10 with players getting kicked off the team and locker room issues he will be hailed an idiot and let go.

Prime has been going full Yellowstone
I like his emphasis on "now."
He tells players they have to be great now because he's in his 50s and cant wait around.
As a Schiano fan, the main thing I never liked about his approach was the yearly warning about how "young" the team was.
You want to stress players to elevate and grow confidence but it often seemed Greg was laying down excuses over what players couldn't do.
Of course some players do need shaping and guiding and wiggle room but you dont want to make players feel you have no confidence in them.

Prime owning the uni in off-season - every day it something else
Rutgers juice? Bueller Bueller?
Sanders is owning that place so thoroughly its only a matter of time before someone there gets jealous and pipes-up in media

Some coaching tidbits from Coach Prime during practice, some you will never see out of a Rutgers practice.

Indeed with all the social juice its almost easy to forget he does know football pretty well.
Even if he was a bad player, being on five NFL teams means a lot of tips from a lot of coaches
