Brian Hawkins scored a school-record 35 goals and recorded 11 assists in leading the Irish to a 17-5-1 record and the NJSIAA South Jersey, Non-Public A title last season. A National Soccer Coaches Association All-American and the N.J. Gatorade Player of the Year, Hawkins compiled 76 goals, 35 assists and struck 25 game-winners for the Mercer County prep power over his prolific career.
"I chose Rutgers because it gives me the best of both worlds,'' Hawkins said in a statement released by Rutgers. "I can achieve a great education and play high level soccer at a Big Ten school that is close to home.''
---------------
Great for soccer and hopefully NJ players in other sports feel inspired by this.
