PISCATAWAY, N.J. (Jan. 6, 2020) – The 2020 Rutgers football season marks the return of head coach Greg Schiano, who guided the program to unprecedented success in his first tenure, including six bowl game appearances and a top-10 national ranking. On Tuesday, fans can renew or purchase new season tickets for his return “On the Banks.”

New season tickets can be purchased using the following link or to renew existing season ticket accounts, click here. Fans can also call the ticket office at 866-445-GORU. Fans are encouraged to visit RutgersGameday.com for additional game day and ticket-related information. Discounted season tickets are available for Rutgers University faculty and staff, young alumni, RU letterwinners and band and cheer parents at a limit two (2) per account.

For the fifth consecutive year, season ticket pricing remains flat in 2020. Season ticket holders who renew (or purchase new season tickets) prior to Tuesday, Feb. 4 will be provided the opportunity to take advantage of the early-bird special and have the $25 handling fee waived on their order. Along with exclusive events, gifts and offers, fans will have an opportunity to purchase up to eight (8) additional single-game tickets per game, per account at a discounted rate during the renewal process. A full list of benefits and offers will be sent to each season ticket holder via their personalized web page that features all related information for the 2020 season.

The Scarlet Knights will play seven home games at SHI Stadium, opening the season with a matchup against Monmouth on Labor Day weekend (Sept. 5). A renewed rivalry with former Big East member Syracuse returns to the schedule on Sept. 12, the first meeting between the schools since the 2012 season. Rutgers won six of the previous eight contests between the schools.

The home Big Ten schedule opens on Oct. 3 against Illinois, followed by the annual Homecoming game on Oct. 17 versus Indiana. West Division opponent Nebraska will travel to Piscataway on Oct. 24 for Parent-Family Weekend.

The Scarlet Knights will close out the November conference schedule with games against Michigan on Nov. 14 and Penn State on Nov. 28.

Fan excitement for the return of Schiano, the 2006 National Coach of the Year, was evident by the spike in season ticket deposits at the time of his hire. The Rutgers ticket office received 502 deposits for season tickets, which accounts for an estimated 1,355-1,606 new season tickets in a five-week span.

In the first 138 years of Rutgers football, the program advanced to one bowl game, while Schiano led the Scarlet Knights to six postseason games in his 11-year tenure, including five championships. RU was ranked in 20 weeks during Schiano's tenure after appearing in the AP Poll only nine times prior. Schiano has three nine-win campaigns, coached 83 RU players who signed NFL contracts and guided the program to the top APR score in the nation.

In addition to the single-game ticket offer, season ticket holders will have the chance to utilize a four-installment payment plan. The plan can be used for all items purchased during the season ticket process (this includes season, single-game ticket add-ons, Rutgers Scholarship Fund (RSF) seat fee and parking). Per-game pricing on season tickets and RSF seat fees remain the same for the third consecutive season. Under the four-installment payment plan, season ticket holders will be required to pay 25 percent of their total bill at the time of renewal or new purchase. The remaining payments will be charged on March 16 (25 percent), April 15 (25 percent) and May 15 (25 percent). The deadline to enter the payment plan is April 30 and any season tickets acquired after this date will be required to be paid in full at the time of purchase. The renewal deadline for 2020 season tickets is March 5.

2020 season parking is available exclusively to season ticket holders. Accounts that purchased parking in 2019 will have the opportunity to renew in the same parking lot after meeting the minimum priority point and annual athletic gift requirement. Click here for more information.

With the new upgrade and relocation process for the 2020 season, current and new season ticket holders are encouraged to make their annual gifts to the R Fund or increase their support of Scarlet Knight student-athletes by the April 30 priority point deadline to maximize opportunities for seat upgrades or parking selection for the 2020 season. Following the priority point deadline, all accounts with the upgrade request will be accommodated in priority point order for the opportunity to upgrade or relocate seats to preferred locations. Just got the email. Was everyone emailed today or did some get it yesterday?

Just got it also. Key piece of info that people need to pay attention to is that renewals are due by 3/5 ("The renewal deadline for 2020 season tickets is March 5"), whereas the renewal deadline was 4/2 last year and 4/30 for years prior to that. An easy to overlook detail and it requires most of us to start planning earlier than usual. @Richard Schnyderite - maybe worth updating thread title to note renewal deadline (I debated starting a separate thread otherwise).

Remember, if you know people who can’t afford the whole tickets/parking price or are on the fence, there is no need to pay for parking if you don’t mind walking a ways.

I like the personalized webpage included in the e-mail, makes it very easy to understand where our individual accounts stand.

Let the negotiating begin with my group. Three guys of the remaining six are adament about being out this year. Three are in. I'd love to get to 5 to get that 2nd parking pass. On the other hand, maybe we buy one with no parking to hold our points and then buy game to game. Hmmm, gonna be an interesting conversation.

You only need 4 for a pass, not 5, so buying one on spec doesn't seem to be a bad idea - maybe these other guys can share the one ticket (we have 12 tix with 2-3 shared). Also, demand will likely increase from here on out, so this is the best year to buy. We're likely to go back to 14, where we were for many years.

1-4 tickets gets you 1 pass. 5-8 gets you that second pass. We want to get to 5 tickets.

Getting back in for the first time in a couple of years. Thinking of upgrading to a better section than I had before.

Want to think about that a bit before calling my rep back. Where to go... hmmm....
