If you also add the Big Ten Tournament results from March 10, which team is at risk for a Selection Committee surprise and gets to stay home? Do Big Ten teams that lost in the first round of the Big Ten Tournament get penalized?

Big Ten Regular Season Standings Conf. Overall BIG T. Overall Lost 1st game
Northwestern Wildcats
12-8 21-11 12-9 21-12 Yes

Michigan State Spartans 11-8 19-12 11-9 19-13 Yes

Maryland Terrapins 11-9 21-12 11-10 21-13

Illinois Fighting Illini 11-9 20-12 11-10 20-13 Yes

Iowa Hawkeyes 11-9 19-13 11-10 19-14 Yes

Michigan Wolverines 11-9 17-15 11-10 17-16 Yes

Rutgers Scarlet Knights* 11-9 20-13 12-10 20-14

Note: * Selection Committee considers the Rutgers vs. Ohio State a win.

My guess is that Illinois could get a surprise snub from the NCAA Tournament.
What is your guess?

nauseam. The committee doesn’t consider conference teams vs conference teams when selecting teams. If Ohio State wins and is a bid stealer, whoever was the last of the first 4 teams in will be removed from the bracket.
The committee will have an alternate bracket in case ohio states wins on sunday and if they do , said team will be removed . It will be the last team in who is removed no matter what conference they play in.

Zero chance Illinois is snubbed

This isnt how it works. There will be a contingency bracket made. It will have nothing to do with removing a Big 10 team

The committee is not considering the RU game in Columbus a win. Brietman's souce simply said the call that cost RU the game would be considered when evaluating S. Pikie'll's team. Nuance isn't always the strength of this board (or any board).

Purdue will hopefully put an end to this discussion in a few hours. If not, then we have to root for Indiana, unfortunately.
