‘“Can’t defend the Free Throw line”

Pike needs to get teed up and intimidate refs. Refs take liberties with us pertaining to fouls unlike with Fran or Izzo who they’re afraid of.

I agree. This isn’t going to work. Jokers almost stole another game.

A T could have lost us the game tonight. Love all the recliner coaches who question how we are winning.
Or it could have put an end to the trend with where they were clearly heading. Took a miracle to recover from that.

“They were shooting free throws”

League officiating is a joke!!

Press conference: when asked about the officiating -“Officials are trying hard to do a good job” and then looked at someone with a wry smile

“Can’t defend the free throw line”

And made several other comments about the free throws

There is NO WAY you can deny he thought the refs sucked and that is his pike-way of addressing it.

The offensive fouls against Spencer’s were head scratching. The 2nd one was technical not an offensive foul but the NW player flopped on minimal contact.
I was okay with the refs tonight, but agree that a couple calls against Cam seemed suspect.

Problem for me is they don’t show the correct angles to really know what might have happened. The ref making the call is on the other side of the play from the camera angle shown on TV. So it’s impossible to get the same view as the ref.

Finally! Pike knows officiating ridiculous

There’s unbelievably a string that says we shouldn’t comment on atrocious officiating.

Are you kidding me?

Yeah when we played Iowa at home I think 3 years ago maybe 4 it seemed like we were getting calls in the first half and Fran got T'eed up right before halftime and Iowa got every call in the second half

the second flop call on Mulcahy and when he had the ball knocked from him late got me HOT. Ref in both cases was NOT in position to make the call. Paul was shielding the ref both times. How do you make a call when you can't actually see?

also reviewing the Paul foul, he got ran into by the big goof and they called a foul? headscratcher.

Inconsistent reffing IS bad reffing
this....If players can't tell which way the refs are calling the game its very hard to play and defend. They called us for like no fouls the first ten minutes and like two fouls the entire first half. Once the second half started the refs on a dime decided every level of contact was a foul, no matter how light it was. Made no sense. Bad officiating period.

After Paul's one man Improv show there was no room for additional t's

Game time. Northwestern was supposed to win.

Exactly, but it was on the road. Can’t recall if he got the T or they just let him drone on.
