“Non-steal turnovers”

Got another 10 sec violation last game too
Yes! I mentioned that in a thread a couple weeks ago, that this team has forced more shot-clock violations and more 10-second violations than any Pike team in memory, which is saying a lot. Just uncanny.

Defensively, we stack up with any team in the country. That's why it's such a shame we shoot so horrendously... No. 345 out of 351 schools. If we could simply be in the 200-225 range, we'd be dangerous.

The D is legit. The impact that dreadful FG% typically has on defensive intensity over the course of a game is being overlooked by many of our fans. To maintain a top 10 Kenpom D despite having the 6th worst overall FG% in all of D1 is an insane statistic.

Really good point. It's usually deflating for a defense to try to get stop after stop when they can't score on offense

It also means no chance to set up the press or just get back and have the D set after a made bucket

No doubt our offensive woes are what's killing us in most games this season. Lucky for us, we have two offensive phenoms coming next season. So I ain't worried.

From the first game against Princeton to the last game against Purdue Rutgers offense has been mired in long scoring droughts that negates the prowess on defense.

I commented on this on X that this is without drawing virtually any charges. The days of paul and caleb taking those have been replaced with 10 second violations.

Best part is that Pike continues to show that whatever personnel he has, he will have a top tier D which gives me confidence he can continue that with the young class coming in.

The RAC loses its mind every ten second call, and I love it. I don't think the Purdue fans in attendance knew what to make of it

I noticed that too. The Purdue fans near us were kinda looking around confused when we went crazy over a defensive effort.

Imho it’s a sign of a smart fanbase

I guess a lot of other fanbases only react to dunks and 3-pointers ?

Credit to Simpson.

Ssssssssssssh!

Won’t fit the narrative. Heads exploding.

Truly dangerous if we could ever figure it out....what disappoints so much

The guards are what they are in my opinion. At least for this year. In my opinion, the key to noticable improvement on offense, is for both Cliff and Mag to play to even 75% of their potential at the same time. If that happens, it puts us in way better position to win these low scoring games if we get consistent production from the front court. It’s only happened once all season - against Nebraska (not the low scoring part). Cliff finally showed up and Mag had a good game too. If both of them along with Hyatt are putting up double digits - we don’t need the guards pushing pace. We can then avoid droughts and compete in half court games. The problem has been with either Cliff or Mag being no shows.
