looking at the top recruits from the state for 2018 all of them appear to be set on other places. Looking at twitter and other social media platforms none of them seem to have that NJ pride we see in the top recruits committed for our 2017 class.

We are over a year away from 2018 signing day. A lot could happen between now and then.

I just want to get this class wrapped up before thinking about next year. Still a lot can happen in the next 3 weeks.

Because getting Recruits over the next 3 weeks for the 2017 class is much more critical.

Juniors in HS are 16 or 17 years old and will change their minds many times before committing to a program.
Don't sweat it now.

No harm in looking ahead a little bit.

As per the "NJ pride" aspect? Were guys that have given verbals for 2017 showing strong NJ pride at this time last year?

Win and that interest will change. These kids want to play for a winner and go to a bowl game. NYD bowl will be a big shot in the arm for recruiting.

Based on the Rivals commitment list, it does not look like RU got a verbal for 2017 until March 2016 (with the exception of Jones in November 2015). It may be a little early to panic.

Less than 30% of high school recruits care what I'm reading on the interwebs.

of course and it would also be the 1st one in school history when it happens.
