But everything is good, right? We are improving, right?

It's bad. No spin on it. We have some talent but we need new leadership. There's no other way to improve.

For the Jordan defenders on this site: What is the intolerable threshold for consecutive conference losses? obliviously it wasn't 25, is 30 the number? 35? 40?

Losses are unacceptable, hiring on the cheap to replace Eddie might not help in the long run.
Hire a quality candidate to replace Eddie, or give him one more to prove he can do a better job than he has so far.
It's a dammed if you do and dammed if you don't , if Hobbs can't do anything but gamble because of financial concerns.
Rice and Flood are gone more for the problems they brought on themselves outside of gameday and in both cases money had to be found
Jordan's personal conduct or his players actions are the same as what involved Flood and Rice and getting ride of them was a priority because of the bad PR they brought down on RU .
Julie had to go because the media wasn't going to let up on her and would nitpick at everything she did or didn't seem to be doing.

Hobbs might be biding his time not to have it look like the $25 million being given to RU sports won't be used to buy out a HC and just used to upgrade facilities.

In contrast the UConn womens basketball team has now won over 65 straight games including national championships and this isn't the first time they have won over 50 straight games.

So you're hoping that Eddie becomes the next Geno and turns RU MBB into the UConn WBB program

the fact is that it is beyond CLEAR that if this team finishes on a 19 game losing streak with 34 straight Big 10 losses and 41 losses in their last 47 games, Eddie has to be fired.

It would be so bad it simply trumps any magic wand excuse of injuries that Eddie supporters want to point to you. At that point you need to make a change to put out the dumpster fire perception and move things forward long time. That's what I am getting at. Eddie may get this team to win 13 games next year and 4 conference wins but what does that mean..they still aren't ready for a NCAA push in 2018 so where does that leave us. You think Sanders is staying past 3 years? So on the current team you would have Laurent, Diallo and Doorson left in 2019 and then relying on Eddies recruiting to bring players...you have to be kidding me here

26 losses in a row. Has that sunk in to his supporters?

Yes. We might be better next year, but we are no where near ready to compete even in the middle tier of the league anytime soon

that is true...we can beat a midpack team on a good day and win a couple against the bottom feeders but what does that mean...schools like Nebraska, Penn State, Minnesota, and Northwestern have generally been in this position with little to show for it.

are we beating Michigan, are we beating Indiana, are we beating Iowa...if the answer is no then we are more than two years away from a NCAA bid and Sanders and the rest of the team will be long gone. So the Eddie supporters must be relying on Eddies future recruits to get it done and he has little recruiting stain so how is that going to work out for them

I fear we get into a very gray area with Eddie if he finds 2 wins before the season ends.

Very similar to the situation with Kyle in 2013 where the win agsinst USF saved his job and eventually ended up setting us back further.

My fear as well.

I think we all would have loved to see this work out for Eddie, would have made a terrific story coming off of the Mike Rice fiasco. And yes he's gotten some really bad breaks w/ injuries and all, but the bottom line is I just don't see how you can hold onto a coach who hasn't won a conference game in over a year. The fact that he's a beloved member of the Rutgers family makes it difficult for sure, but you have to set the standard somewhere

It is frightening and depressing to think of this team without Sanders and then Jordan having to try to replace him recruiting off his current body of work.

It's frightening to watch this team play most of its 30 game schedule with two players over 6'4", one of which, who is playing through an injury he would otherwise miss time with. And sometimes that 6'4" misses multiple games against the toughest part of the schedule.

Down right terrible.

Didn't you hear. Eddie is in the untouchable zone because two, at best, project players who might never turn out to be good B1G players are hurt and one good player who has, at best, two years left and has not played much B1G basketball is hurt.

The injuries to these players are his only hope to stay on. His team looked bad with these players. It looked bad without Laurent, it looks bad with him. But, hey, you never know.

Eddie Jordan is nothing more than a placeholder to get past the Mike Rice era. I don't see where anybody here thinks this board is full of people who think Eddie Jordan, the coach, is a god or anything. Remove the one "extend him now!" post and maybe some stuff here and there from Ohio, and who really is defending the guy? BK doesn't count.

Keep Eddie one more year and give the ultimatum of 5 conference wins and better recruiting . Get help for sanders . Maybe Eddie can buy or recruit another stud .
One more year under Eddie won't make things much worse if the team stinks in 2017.

But I will be one year closer to death. He also has no open scholarships to work with.

HA! HA! 27 losses in a row is out of context. Love you EJ apologists.
27 losses is a fact just like he beat a final 4 team. The context is really about are we improving. Did he bring in the best player in the last 10 years? Is the team playing hard? Can this team, at full strength, win games?

We might improve to 8 wins next year
