I was working at a retail store and was listening on the radio, catching the ending there.... wish I could have seen it live..... a pretty good moment for
RU basketball.... unfortunately we could not keep it going the next game, we had a short bench and it showed.
It is hard to believe that was 19 years ago.... I remember being on the RU sports board, what ever it was, till the early morning hours, talking with RutgersMo and FrankZ, so happy at the time

Bitter Sweet memory. Great game and memory. Sad that one of our best highlights in the last 20 years was a quarter final conference tournament game.(no NCAA or championship etc.) I was not following basketball in 76, so the great moments for me as a fan have been scarce...

We had to go back to New Brunswick because we didn't bring the white uniforms
(I.e. No one expected 12 seed Rutgers vs 13 Georgetown

I was at that game (I basically lived at every BET) with Piscataway Mike and others and that was probably my greatest thrill as a RU fan (started rooting for team in 95). I was 1st row behind the basket - at the other end from where Billet scored - and when Billet hit the shot - I ran onto the court out of excitement and I had security guards put a full nelson on me...lol.....great memory forever....
Many don't remember the game before when we beat a top 25 WVU squad featuring Damien Owens in the Wed afternoon session....that game was a lot of fun also.......
