So we were noticing a lot more aerial activity on Saturday early during the tailgate. First 2 planes, then 3. Around 9:30-9:45, looking from the Black Lot towards Hill Center, we see 4 planes in that direction heading towards the Blue Lot and the stadium. Then we hear planes behind us, turn around, and count another 4 planes coming from the east northeast towards us. 8 planes in the air, all flying banners for whatever they were selling. Pretty neat.

I saw that from the yellow lot too.

It's pretty neat until the 4 planes coming from one direction crash into the 4 planes coming from the other direction with the crash being directly over your tailgate, ruining the delicious food on the grill that was almost done and killing all the hookers.

They break my bottles of single malt scotch and I'll drag their rotten souls out of hell and make them wish they were still back there!

I've heard that those pilots typically are not getting paid, but rather just building up their flight hours to move up to the next level.

They get minimum wage. But hour building is the objective. Slightly worse than taking parachute jumpers. In the former you fly on the edge of a stall, in latter you run with minimal fuel so you can Handle the weight of the jumpers.

If the 4 planes going west were traveling at 50MPH and the 4 planes going east were traveling at 65 MPH how long before all the banners get tangled up?

Do we know which planes were carrying chickens as that will affect the calculations?

As God as my witness, I thought turkeys could fly.
Turkey's can't fly at all? Not even a short distance?

If true, then...

Wild turkeys can fly. Domestic ones (that weigh a ton), no. Surprisingly, peacocks can fly up the top of really tall trees. Saw that once and it really blew me away.

At least they were accurate! AK should have been taking notes

You're there everyday
Sunday was tough. Temperature was fine but the south wind was sandblasting us. Only lasted maybe 90 minutes. Still counts.

There probably would have been may more people but it was the annual Manasquan - Point Pleasant Beach Tug-O-War across the inlet which usually draws a nice crowd.

I have to get to that event one time but would pull for Point Pleasant Beach as I am a proud Garnet Gull!
