Most of us are die hard Rutgers fans and that is why we pay to join the board. Before joining, I was hoping the board would be a great resource for sharing information, but it has become anything but. I have found that if anyone dares post information that is not scarlet colored and/or goes along with the most optimistic of scenarios, they are immediately labelled a TROLL, PSU alum, NJ.com member and other various names.
For the past 3 weeks I have consistently defended Kyle Flood and I STILL think he is the best choice to lead us forward, I offered to fund a full page ad to highlight his achievements (see below) - both on and off the field - and for this, I was accused of trying to stoke the flames - and that I should just shut up because the investigation was nonsense.
Soooo..at the risk of being called a whole bunch of different things, I will also state that I have CONSISTENTLY SAID that this issue was far more serious than fans on this board were giving it credit. I defended Dan Duggan, (who by the way, was very fair last night on ESPN) when he said on B10 TV that the matter could have serious outcomes. My fear was not so much what Kyle did (and after reading the report, i am convinced that this would have been swept under the rug at most big Universities) but the fact that we have spineless leadership and we are governed more by the media than we are by our leaders, and that a great man like Kyle could be in serious trouble
As I have stated before, I have a very good contact (not a leaker) who is a liaison between sports and academics and I have tried sharing with all of you the information (good and bad) when i get it. My last post was regarding the BOG meeting last Friday, and a simple statement I made such as - Termination of Flood was not an option discussed at the meeting - was taken as - nothing will happen to Flood. I again cautioned posters that they should not read into that - and that suspension and reprimand were still viable options and the investigation was to be taken seriously
In short, I will not be posting any information that i receive in the future, because it is wasted on this board. i can only hope that the board has learned its lesson, that not everyone who writes negative information concerning Rutgers is a troll, etc, and there are good people out there who are simply trying to share info, which should be the main purpose of a premium message board.
