Can we try to be civilized and rally around the kids and staff on their last day? I get the anger about Flood and this year's results. He is the head coach and it's on him. As some of you believe, he is unlikely to return. Whatever happens, the man is a good man who spent 10 years of his life at this school, coaching the kids, helping to build a program and supporting the local charities. He is from a police family and though it might be popular nowadays to attack them, they deserve our utmost respect. Just like some few will always only see through a lens of hate, I ask that the rest of you, set this aside for the benefit of the school and the coaches and players on that field. Booing Flood's commercial for a charity serves no purpose other than to disrespect the legacy of what the man has done to help others. The rest of the football world may look at what we're doing to him in terms of email gate and shake their heads but this is Jersey and these things happen. We may never know the true story about what happened but life is not fair. We all lose our jobs or that position at some point in our lives, fairly or unfairly, that's just the way it is. I have lost many friends around me due to down sizing and the like. Some "deserved" it, some didn't. However, just because he may lose his job doesn't mean that we need to continue to make him a villain and ignore all the good things this man has done. He took over a program, the biggest job of his life, and tried the best he could to live up to expectations. He has grown and learned, and shown some modest success. The circumstances may dictate that Rutgers may need to go in a different direction. That's fine. However, all I ask, is that we set aside these feelings of anger, or disappointment on this last game of the year, Senior Day, to show appreciation for the people on that field who have worked so hard to make Rutgers a better place.
